Well i've got the cash, but the UK market isn't sinking just yet, which is weird since out finance centre has been the worst hit in the world

I'm going to stick the money in the bank, keep it there and wait to see what happens in the next few months, no point being too quick unless something good turns up, until then it's a case of waiting patiently.

good strategy Ryan. What are you trying to acquire and what kind of discount are you looking for?

I really don't know yet, there is a list of watches i wanted, but have discounted them as once i had the funds i didn't have the feel for the watches anymore, the list so far:

Panerai 233 - Had an offer at a great price, but the watch is just too big, 42mm is the biggest i think i'll go now.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chrono - If i can find one at a good price i'll snap it up, nicest chrono on the market for me.

Rolex Daytona - Another lovely chrono, but with the premium still there i'm not buying one, in a buyers market you don't pay premiums!

Rolex Submariner Red - Have seen a couple, one is a very big possible but need another few $$$ to buy it, if i can raise the funds and the seller sells then this is the watch for me.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono - Had the offer of a lovely one, but a bit put off with the service costs and the ability to move it on if i ever sell again.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms - Another offer, but i feel it's just too big after trying a similar sized watch.

Panerai 26 - If i could find one at a good price i would buy it, but they're just silly money for what the watch is.

I got my recent DJ 116234 w/ diamond dial (retail $8150.00) NIB for $5695.00. That's just slightly over 30% off.

Man, nice choices. It seems you've been thinking hard as to what to get for your next watch acquisition. Whatever you end up with, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

Robert, which AD did you buy from? That's a good discount.

Thinking is about all i can do just now, not much on the market that i like at good prices, but i know this year is going to be a nightmare, i know i'm going to have a few quid to put to one side as well this year so i can sit back, wait it out and dream

Mark, you made a killing on that deal. That's the most I think I've head for a SS from a AD. Did you need to pay tax or was that waived?

We got 30%, do I hear 31%, 32%, 33%? We got some great deals out there.

I didn't pull the trigger, but haggled down to 20% in Chicago area. They were "very" hesitant and made a big fuss, but still ended up doing it. In Chicago area, AD's are offerring 20 months, no interest. If you don't need the financing, they are more flexible on $$. As for tax-free, they will only do it if they can ship to another state. So if you know someone in a different state where the AD doesn't have a branch, it is a great way to save cash. In my area, sales tax is 10%!

What ADs? I am in the Chicago area and went into two today. The selection was not to my liking, so perhaps people are snapping up the watches at these lower prices.
