Hi all I just accidentally popped out my gliding bracelet from my clasp on my SD4K. Long story but was trying to install an everest and made a dumb move, so now I've got the bracelet out of the glidelock and two black oval shapped things (presumably the pieces that facilitate the glide). No idea how to get this all back in there. Anyone with advice/experience on this please help!

I say go to an AD and have them put it back

Yeah, putting the glidelock back together can be a bit tricky. Please don't lose the black oval shaped thingy's (or Banana shaped plate, as Rolex calls them.), they are made of 18k white gold and are pricey.

If it's the same ovals as the Sub's glidelock, it's very tricky to put back together. If you don't have the right tools I wouldn't bother trying as you'll probably scratch it up.

Does the AD have an in-house certified Rolex technician? If not, I'd say take a trip to the RSC since you're in New York.

Alright all sorted!! I went to a Tourneau and asked them to help me. Lab coat lady starts taking it back to the technician and is stopped by a power trippy guy in a suit who says sorry but we can't help you with that as it is not the original bracelet. I said okay I understand but it is still the original clasp and an original glide lock I am trying to put back into it, could you at least have your technician come out here and give me some pointers even if he can't touch it? Guys says no that's not possible can't help you. After my breathing exercises to not get into it with this guy I left the store and figured I'd give another AD a shot. Could not have been a different story. Super nice and spent 15 minutes with all the tools you guys mentioned getting it back in there. I am very thankful that there were cool about this and helpful, unlike Tourneau's unhelpful manager. Looks awesome now, perfect for the summer, want to post a pic but no idea how (url?)

thanks so much guys really appreciate it! Feels kinda dumb in heinsight to call this a rolex emergency but I was freaking out as I had no idea what I was doing (even though I thought I did at the time lol). so nice to have this forum of support. And wish I could call out who helped me and where but don't want to get anyone in trouble with the mothership

Been there done that and one of DavidSW's guys fixed it in less than a minute, It is a real bitch if you don't know exactly how to do it.

I was worried that someone had one of their stickers get scratched. Sorry to hear it's something more significant. Good luck getting it repaired.
