Icon17 Time for a service!

16760 GMT master II with caliber 3085, produced between 1983 and 1990, one you rarely see.

More pics to come

Look at the corrosion at the in-setting for the escape wheel. Never seen it this bad on this brass piece. Needs replacing.

Disassembled... Time to go through all the parts thoroughly again and keep the worn ones aside.

Hey Bas, can you please enlighten us on what makes this movement different from the 3185?

It’s so awesome that we have someone like you here to show us the guts of these incredible little machines

The 3085 is its predecessor, the GMT mechanism is similar but the base movement is quite different in its architecture.

Parts list, and a pic of the new in-setting in the main plate for comparison.

The rotor axle has minor wear compared to what you usually see, some light scratching on the axle. Will still replace it though.

Bronze bushings in main plate & barrel bridge, both oxidised and show some wear.
The newer calibers have these bronze bushings upgraded to synthetic ruby bearings

Quick question - are you allowed to upgrade those bushings to the jeweled ones?

There are no fitting jewels available for this movement. Maybe custom would be possible, but it's not necessary really, nor am I allowed to do such thing of course
