Probably not indeed, they even recommend using artifex abrasive wheels for doing the lugs, because the large type sandpaper wheel they use at the factory is too dangerous

Yes Sir, belt sander/grinder with integrated lapping disk. It is definitely a very good step up from doing everything with a felt wheel.
But eventually I'd like that Rolex brings a more complete lapping machine with tin disks for doing complete case re-cuts like LA Watchwerks does.
That combined with a laser welding machine and the hands of a skilled craftsman can really restore cases to perfect condition.

Hey Bas, if you don’t have a laser welder what do you use to restore dents and dings in cases which would typically need a laser weld to restore?

Wow, it's rare to see polishing and re-finishing done this well. Personally, I'm no fan of removing marks that tell stories and hold memories from your life with the watch, but for those that want it done, it doesn't get better than this.

Final steps, assembly of the automatic module & casing the movement.

Dial has some slight damage, but it's not too bad, not going to replace it, don't worry!

The photo with all of the parts of the movement spread out neatly gave me some serious anxiety. Thankfully not every one is as ham-fisted as I am when it comes to such detail and precision work!

I thought Rolex didn’t service watches with movements that were discontinued more than 25 years ago? There has been some grumbling here about them not serving vintage watches and pulling parts accounts from independents so they can’t work on them either. Is Europe different than the US?
