Ember Watches - DO NOT BUY
This is a warning to everyone looking to purchase a modified Rolex from Ember Watches in Germany; while their watches may look great on instagram, they are an awful company to work with. While i dont think they are a scam, I can say that they will make false promises, have very poor communication, and steal from you if given the chance. AVOID AT ALL COST
Full disclosure: I have posted similar reviews on Google and Instragram which Ember has subsequently deleted. In my communications with them, I have promised to delete or retract my reviews once the problem was fixed. My story with Ember (the abbreviated version) -Found Ember on Instagram - I think they are a partner with the lifestyle guy
-Throughout the process, I have not once recieved a call back from Marcus Carl, their CEO who sold me the watch. I have left many Voice Mails and messages with his receptionist (which might be a paid answering service) -Marcus has asked me to stop texting him to ask when it will be fixed, rather than just fining the issues -They have deleted my reviews and blocked me on instagram (again, rather than fixing the problem. CONCLUSION - DO NOT BUY - save yourself money and lots of headaches. |

How did you find this company? Did you research Ember Watches before you pulled the trigger? The website seems to be an intro page but nothing else.
Do you have any actual pictures of the "shoddy" work you claim they did?

I found them on instagram, through a post on the lifestyle guy. I did a bit of research on them, but there was not much on the web. At that point, they had a much more robust and descriptive website (check out the history on the Wayback Machine).
Sorry, i don't have enough posts here to post images, but go to the photo sharing site IBB DOT CO and add the following after the backslash Marker fell off - bF5RHT Lume at full charge - mrUmHT |

Dear Rolex Community,
Normally, we do not comment on online contributions, but we will make an exception in this case … as we refuse to give way to blackmail! Here is our comment: 1. Upon importation into the USA, the customer gave false information and is therefore solely to blame for not being able to recover VAT. To this day, we have not been supplied with the required documents! 2. In the case at hand, the paintwork has apparently fallen out from one index. That is certainly quite unfortunate but may happen to any manufacturer and watch. When Scott informed us thereof, we immediately ordered that the watch be collected in the USA. It goes without saying that we paid for all transport costs involved in this case. For this process, German customs have a specific procedure to avoid paying VAT upon importation. Again, the customer supplied wrong information, even though we had given clear instructions on how to complete the forms. As a consequence, we again had to pay duty on the watch, making an advance payment of more than €2,000. It is quite regrettable that the latter should portray himself as a victim and use this platform to blackmail our company because every international customer will of course be credited VAT if he/she is entitled thereto on the basis of the information supplied. Thanks Team EMBER |
