I find it amusing that some people treat ADs like their local pub. They stop in on a regular basis for free coffee and to chat.

While sitting with their feet up, drinking free coffee, not buying a thing, but "building a relationship" the "wis" gets pissed when someone comes in and asks to buy a product that the store supposedly sells...

Don't these commoners know you cannot just buy a mass produced watch? You must be chosen. How dare you sully up our establishment by simply trying to exchange money for goods..

True WISs don't behave like this. These are snobs you speak of.

I have zero sympathy. The strategy works and there is no doubting that, but the amount of good paying customers are getting burnt too. It is making the younger generation look elsewhere by not allowing them to get the watch their father wore.

Everyone wants what they can't have. It's human nature. They even made a SouthPark episode about this very thing, and it's pretty hilarious too!

I bought all of my 4 Rolex watches in 4 different stores on different occasions of course! Basically, I went in, it was available, I tried it on, it looks good, I paid and left. I extended my thanks to the SA who assisted me. Just like any transaction that I do. The sad part now is that Rolex SS are so in high demand that you have to establish a good relationship with the AD or the Boutique. The customer should have an upper hand but I guess getting a Rolex Submariner is now almost a rarity (I hope not) that we have to spend time talking to AD and “develop” a good relationship. Don’t get me wrong, it is none of my business if one chooses to establish good relationships with the ADs. However, if having a good relationship means to get somehow to move up in the imaginary list—then that is your time and energy. None of my business. To me, if it is not meant to be, then, there is nothing much I can do. IMHO.

Grovelling new generation Rolex buyer/flipper .Landing a ss sportie makes them this "huge business man" with a trade deal that influences the NYSE
