Feedback on this potential vintage purchase
I’ve always been a fan of the vintage Rolex, partly because of price point, partly because of the history, along other things. This is would be my first purchase, any tips, opinions or advice? I feel like a metal bracelet will probably show more wear, so I am going for leather. Thanks.
It’s a Rolex 1960s oysterdate with a black face and a leather strap for $2,800 from Gilt. Sorry, I can’t post links yet. |

Unfortunately, photos will be needed for useful advice about a particular watch. If you are just looking for pricing, you can look at prices on the sales forum or use the eBay advanced search to look at sold listings. In general, I would consider spending a bit more on a DateJust with a bracelet. The size of the DJ is better for most people, and the bracelet gives you more options. Also, a DJ with a bracelet is the type of classic that is easy to sell if you ever decide to let it go.
