Explorer II polar 24-hour hand anomaly?

Saw this new polar Explorer 2 in the For Sale section from a TS and noticed that the 24-hour hand is half-painted black like the black dial version typically has. Never seen that before on a white dial version. Usually they are fully orange. Anyone else? I like it. New change or a one-off?

TS is aperionvi from June 4, 2019 (bumped tonight)

(I don't have the post count yet to post links to it. Perhaps someone else could help with that.)

Wow that is odd but I also like the quirkiness of it.

I saw a BNIB one on WUS as well with a half painted hand. Factory defect maybe?

I've seen a fair number of them with the half-black 24 hour hand. Here's one with a black dial:

Yes, but the black dial has the orange and black arrow hand, the polar does/did not.
Hence the OP

Seems like the black dial 16570 (40mm) models had an all-orange hand, but the 216570 black dial (42mm) models have the half/half 24 hour hand. Definitely not normal on the polar dials though. As someone in another discussion pointed out, it may well be the hand from a black dial Explorer II. Some kind of repair/replacement hand done by an independent watchmaker.

I’ve seen really sloppy paint jobs on Ex2 GMT hands. Going by some other posts it seems to be an issue with GMTs as well.

The 16570 (40mm) doesn't have an orange hand...
