Cyclops with AR coating

it just seems like whenever I check the date on my 1989 Sub 16610, I see a lot of reflection in the cyclops. This is the original crystal and over its 30 years (only recently with me) it has acquired a few light scuffs and microscopic edge chips, but not enough to warrant a new crystal (at least not for me). I wonder: by chance, are the current service crystals AR coated on the cyclops at all?

I don't believe there is any AR coating on any of the Rolex watches, but I may be wrong.

I believe there is AR coating under the cyclops of the newer watches.

I have read several posts where people ask about removing the cyclops and posters reply that it will leave a spot with the AR visible.

As to whether a replacement crystal on a watch of that vintage will have it, I have no idea. Sorry, OP.

Thanks guys. Well, I guess I’ll find out whenever I decided to replace the crystal....probably won’t be for a while....

My friend replaced crystal on his 16610LV and RSC replaced old one without AR to one with it. I guess there is good chance you will get upgraded one with AR under the date magnifier.

Yes, there is anti-reflective coating on the cyclops. It is on the the top of it and under the crystal on the inside as well.
