36mm 14790, does it wear like a daytona or pp 5167?
I'm considering getting a 14790 as I'm a bit into smaller watches lately and the dial with the smaller tapisserie attracts me.
Can anyone please help me by letting me know how it wears? I've owned many ap before including a Diver, ROOS, 15300 and 26300 The 14790 is harder to find nowadays so I will probably have to buy it sight unseen. I have a 7 inch wrist btw and my daily is a 5167r Please let me know your experience with this watch if you own it and post any wristshots / side by side with other watches if you can, that would be much appreciated! Thanks |

It wears like a 37-38mm watch... like a vintage dayto
It wears bigger than a 36mm explorer

Thanks for the replies... I’m a bit in doubt to go either 15450 or 14790.
I did try a 15450 a couple weeks ago and it felt like a great size, similar to a ceramic Daytona. I’m afraid the 14790 will feel a bit too small being thin and 36mm Also tried a 15500 and felt like a frying pan. I can pull it off but it doesn’t feel like a good fit. Funny thing is that a diver feels better than a 15500 for some reason.. I’ve posted some comparison wristshots below with a blue 15450, grey 15500 and diver 15450 15500 Diver |

Don't be put off by the 14790. I used to have one alongside my 5167A and they were the perfect duo.

Wears close to a 39/40mm. Abit smaller than an aquanaut:

36mm 14790 RO is perfect for my 6.75” wrist.
I also prefer the slimmer profile of 14790. If you have small or medium wrist size, I think it will be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Many thanks for the replies everyone!
Judging from Jay Kay's comparison pic, I am thinking to pass on a 14790... Is seems a bit dainty compared to the aquanaut. As I mentioned I wear an aqua as my daily and I find its the smallest I would wear. Also mine is gold so a fair bit heavier. I think the 14790 would feel too light and small for me. Thanks again for the answers which helped a lot! |

Don’t know if it’s a 14790 (we didn’t really pay attention to model numbers when we bought watches in 1997), but my RO is 36mm and I love it on my 6” wrists.
It wears smaller, but not massively so, than a 5167 - a watch I personally find too big for my wrist. I also don’t particularly like the giant empty dials of today’s crop of large-diameter time-only watches. Not that I can wear them - I prefer the 5x65 or my 5066. |
