Datejust stolen in London 11/07/19 - and introduction

Hi Guys,

Been a long time visitor on the forum and was going to introduce myself soon but it's a shame this is the topic of discussion.

My brother had his Rolex Datejust 116234 stolen yesterday in London in the Soho area at around midnight. It's 36mm in steel with a silver dial, fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet.

If anyone see's it for sale anywhere or hears anything I would greatly appreciate it. The serial number is 109G1839, purchased new in 2017. The Police have been informed and he's going to contact Rolex today in case anyone brings it in for a service.

Thanks guys and I look forward to posting more about positive things!

A lot of people get their watch stolen but never reported in public.

How was it stolen?
Burglary?
Robbery?
Hope it's insured.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your brothers watch...unfortunately like most big cities around the world the dynamics often change after midnight, and an expensive watch is seen as an easy target.
personally these days (I live in south London) I rarely wear my better pieces locally, preferring to wear a seiko diver or a generic diver, sad I know but better to be safe than sorry...as stated on a previous post generally in the city or west end of london during normal working/dining hours it is ok to wear whatever you have....hope its found and returned, all the best

https://www.thewatchregister.com/I am sorry to hear about your brothers mugging (I am guessing it was that in SoHo at Midnight)

I suggest contacting the RSC (In London) straight away as well as Watchfinder.co.uk

There is also a website he can register the loss on

Those things should be done ASAP this morning

The website is ......

Thanks for the replies guys, I will pass the watch register link onto him.

He’s ok just a bit shocked really, it’s ones of those things that you never think will happen to you I guess. I wear my sub pretty much everywhere but it certainly makes you think twice.

We’ll find out today whether it’s included on our home insurance or not, fingers crossed.

Generally, in the US as an example, unless specifically on a floater, theft of personal property away from the insured premises is limited to 10%.

Very good of you to cover your brother on your own home insurance
