Yes, it is way too big, looks very odd.

My opinion is they both look fine. Close up pics distort how they actually look on your body anyway. And seriously, we're talking about 3.6 mm, as the DJ 41 is actually 39.6 I believe.

I'd say hold out for the blue stick dial though - just something about diamonds and Rolex to me. It's already a fluted, jubilee, it's got bling, adding diamonds screams I need attention.

All about the angle.
In this you’d probably say it’s too big on my 7” wrist:

But, here is how it really looks:

36mm looks best.

If you're keen on the 41, you need to wear it higher on the arm like the previous post, instead of on your wrist.

Have the same issue with larger than 40mm watches. The watch face just needs to look proportional to what it is wrapping. With a small wrist, wear it higher up. Also another issue is that after some use it will slip down.

After visiting a few ADs and trying on 36 and 41 over and over I have my heart set on the 41.

I actually got lucky and was calling around and one AD happened to have the configuration I want in stock. They were nice enough to place a deposit and hold it for me until Monday to pick up.

Super excited!!

Judging by the pictures you provided alone...I would say 36. But I think with a proper backed away photo, I would probably be inclined to say 41. I have a similarly sized wrist, and I know a 36 looks way too small on me

Congrats!! Post the pictures once you get it

Based on the pictures I think the 36 looks better on you.

I would go with 41. In a picture they always look bigger than they really are.

I think both look good. I have small wrists too and I ended up going 41 because I liked the 41 dial better. Since I think you can get away with either one, get the dial you prefer, otherwise you'll regret it later.

Go to a full length mirror, chances are you’ll find the dj41 is just about right on your wrist.

If they had the blue diamond dial in 36mm that would be best. 36mm for sure on your wrist.

I'd say either but I like the 36 better on your wrist.
