Easy Link Extension

I’m looking to pick up an Easy Link extension for my recently acquired 114300 Oyster Perpetual. I think this will make it a 10/10 ‘GADA’ watch...

I’ve seen conflicting reports whereby some ADs will order these no problem - compared to some reports stating Rolex will only provide them on a replacement basis.

Does anybody have any idea what the deal is with this, and how I might be able to go about acquiring one of these?

Or upgrade the watch to an Explorer if that helps?

Not an option I’m afraid - love the white face of the OP...

No idea of the feasibility of the swap on an AD, but seems a good idea. I understand your love for the white dial OP.
Regarding the easylink, I have been using a lot my Exp39 this summer and I used the easylink extension almost every day.

Hi,
my AD added the easy link without any issue for my white OP39 when I bought it there. It did not show separately on the invoice. But that is fine. Same was done during two other watch purchases there of family members (another OP39 and an OP34). The OP39 with an easy link is the perfect watch.
At that AD, I also once got added the easy link to my 16570 Exp 2. When that one was once laser welded at Rolex, it came back with the easy link still attached. So do not believe the horror stories, that Rolex during service will take it out.
So I would simply ask, if the first AD does not do it for some reason, the second will, is my feeling.

Sounds promising and thanks for the info. I’ll speak to the AD in the first instance then.

I have found a used one, but seems strange putting a used link on a brand new bracelet...

Likewise - I'm yet to get much use of my OP as it's gone straight into storage whilst I am away on vacation. However, I use the extension clasp on my Omega daily making me think that the Easylink would be a very welcome addition...

I was thinking about doing the same. Getting am OP 39 and sourcing an easylink.

It is not that easy to find one. I ended up getting the Explorer that comes with the easylink. This was a deal breaker for me as I need the easylink as I live in a hot country and travel a lot.

Yeah fair enough - I can see why that might be a necessity for you...

I did consider the Explorer, but hopefully going to be adding a Sub to the collection soon and decided having the white/black option would be nice.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to pick one up from an AD, there’s a couple nearby where I live so will try my luck in a few. TRF seems like a good place too, I’ve seen a couple of adverts but from a little while ago and no longer available.

FWIW the link is nearly invisible behind the OP clasp...

I see this clasp from Explorer I that I think will fit your bracelet but I think it's too expensive. I think your best bet is finding the whole 77200 bracelet from Explorer I and fitting it on your OP. Then selling the OP bracelet to recoup some money back. I believe Explorer I bracelet should work fine on OP, since they share the same case, but don't quote me on that. I am not sure.

Yeah that’s pretty pricey. I do agree the full clasp from the explorer would be a great upgrade, though in fairness, I really like the clasp for the OP too!

I paid less than that for an entire 77200 bracelet that was brand new with stickers from a private party. And this was only a few months ago.
Plus, that auction is just for the blades and nothing else.
Yes, the 77200 is a direct bolt up to the OP39 case. Same case.

Yeah not a bad shout too - though a quick search looks like these are a little over the £1k mark which seems excessive when easylink is usually <£350.

Caught up with my AD this afternoon, he says there shouldn’t be an issue ordering but needs me to bring in warranty cards

The explorer bracelet also gives you the flip lock feature which isnt on the OP clasp.

Have you taken a look at the Oyster Clasp to compare? I really like it. At first I was worried it wouldn't be that secure, but it works very well. The hook and beak system combined with the hinged locking section provides a very secure fit. I don't think I will be putting too much stress on this one, so I'm pretty pleased with it...

i can see why people like the folding clasp on the explorer but too be honest i find it too bulky. If you can source an easylink for the OP I think that is the best way to go. Folding clasp is alittle bit of over kill

Cheers - confirms what I had expected.

Just trying to source one now, if anyone has any tips on where to find one, would be greatly appreciated!

In this thread check out Alpino's response (#7), where he lists the part numbers for Easylink for bracelets that are 16mm at clasp (32-20193 for brushed, which I assume you'd wanna go with since the OP is brushed) Here is a thread of a person in classifieds selling it. He hasn't posted in thread since June 11th so I assume he either sold it, but he might be still sitting on it, worth it to contact him.

Thanks mate - appreciate you sending the info through. Alpino’s info was very useful!

Escobar144 (the seller) actually posted on the thread about the EasyLink but I understand it is now sold! Thanks for letting me know though

Interesting - The ones I’ve seen sold have all been in the hundreds...

lol Yeah I was the one who was selling them. So pretty much they are impossible to get. I believe sometime in 2017 Rolex put an end to selling them to the public. I have a relationship with an AD and he sold me a few a while back but pretty much told me that it was the last time he was going to order them for me. I have heard that some people are having luck with smaller AD's in ordering them. Hope you can get yourself one! They really do change the OP39 into a real GADA in my opinion

Find an AD with a parts account. I purchased a Submariner half link for my Explorer I with no issue. It helps if you have the part number when you go in to order.

As far as I know 55 CHF is a replacement price and you have to produce a watch for which that part is original? If one could just order the easylink for 55 CHF which is around 50 Eur, I assume a lot of OP39s would have the easylink.

Of course, but $500 for an easylink is just ridiculous.

You just need a good relationship with your AD and they will get you that easylink.
