Hello from the SF Bay Area

Hi all! I've lurked and learned from many threads here over the past year, figured I should sign up and say hi. I'm currently:
  • Waiting for the call from one of my local ADs to buy my first Rolex - a Milgauss Z-Blue.
  • Tempted by the potential for immediate gratification by the OP39 Rhodium Dial, the Pelagos LHD, or the Nomos Tangente Neomatik 41 Update
  • Wearing a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time (ref SRPB46J1) in the mean time
  • Dreaming about being able to buy a steel Sky Dweller at MSRP

Welcome to the forums! IMHO, hold out for the watch you want. Don’t try to “settle.”

Welcome from another Bay Area member! Are you a Pokémon trainer, Brock?

Solid advice! My latest temptation is the GO Seventies Chronograph...

Nope, but a reasonable guess! Just an old nickname that I've sometimes used as a handle... :-)

So...I took your advice, but it didn't go exactly the way I'd been planning

Stopped by my local AD after work today, and they had this little number in the case. I hadn't even been thinking Sub, or TT at all, but something about the overall look just got me hooked. Left the store, went to dinner with my wife, who encouraged me to stop back for another look when she realized I was sweating whether it would still be there tomorrow. Long story short, the good folks at the stop stayed late and made it happen!

Thrilled and still a little shocked that after 2 months of looking and waiting, I took a complete left turn and couldn't be happier.
