In normal times, I agree 100%! In today’s Rolex hot market, I think there are a lot of buyers who do their research and then buy sight unseen from a grey. Or buy immediately ‘when the AD calls’. I sometimes wonder how many watches are bought without a prior chance of seeing it in person.

I bet the AD thinks that once they bring the ‘special’ watch out of the safe, it will be sold immediately. That’s why they’re so hesitant to bring it out of the safe. They’re looking for ‘right’ buyer.

All that being said, that has nothing to do with the buyer wanting to take his time and browse. Sure he can do that. But, if he’s just a browser, then he’ll be treated differently than a ‘buyer’. (And I’m using the word ‘he’ to describe all the people who don’t like the experience with the AD. It might not be 100% of the AD’s fault.)
