OP, I know what you are saying, recently purchased the Wimbledon/ WG fluted bezel, and when I look at it, is it really 41mm? I have owned the Explorer 1 (39mm) and other 40mm watches and it does wear a little smaller. I wonder why? Perhaps it makes the dial look small with the sparkly fluted bezel and the sparkly jubilee bracelet, in other words those 2 items overwhelm the dial. I still like mine, the bracelet and bezel are cool.
It does not matter whether the blue dial is hot, it is your personal taste. I personally did not find the blue, black or white dial to be unusual, hence the purchase of the slate Wimbledon dial. Good luck. |

Since when is a DJ a hot model... It's just people jumping into the wagon because sports models aren't easy for them.

No it’s not 41mm. With your post count and time on the site I’m surprised you haven’t read the findings that have been spoken about many times. The DJ41 actually measures at approx 39.5mm. So even less than 40mm. |

R G is right. It’s not 41mm despite what the Rolex web site claims.
Real world measurements it comes in at 39.5mm and was the topic of much debate for false advertising because of what the Rolex web site claims. If you want a true 41mm DJ, then you have to buy the DJ2 which from memory I think measures in at 40.8mm or thereabouts. I don’t have a vernier to hand to measure mine which I’m wearing now. |

Ok, so now you have my curiosity.....
I used a ruler to measure the underside of the case back. I measured the area from the crown straight across, so let’s say from the 3 to 9 o’clock position, as best I could. Well, it was clearly not 41mm!. Being on the generous side it was 40mm, so if someone has exact measuring equipment I could see it at 39.5mm. So I stand corrected!!! Is there anything one could do with Rolex to rectify this mis-measurement? |

Not in love with my Datejust 41

My post wasn’t meant to offend. Although my source is my personal ownership of a DJ41 and a pair of digital callipers. Mike is correct in that if you want a true 41mm DJ, then it’s the DJ2. |

Hard to fathom a time when a DJ of any configuration is considered hot. Yet here we are!

So if the Daytona is 38.5 and the DJ41 is 39.5, Rolex must be measuring at a different spot on the respective watch. Weird no matter how you look at it.

Very nice watch. I would like the opinion on people who like the DJ Blue Dial. How do you feel about the blue diamond dial? also would it look better on a Jubilee or Oyster? Sorry for the intrusion on your post craigwall13

I am in the camp of the folks that say, "If you don't love it, sell it." In March I got an Explorer. A great watch and loved by many. I wore it and liked it, but it didn't sing to me. Bought a DJ36 and love it. Bought 3 GSs and love them. Then spent some time looking and found a year old Bluesy and traded the Explorer. I couldn't be happier. I love the Bluesy. In fact it is hard to get any of the GSs on my wrist. I have pretty much gone to a 4-5 day Blue TT Sub rotation with a 2-3 day DJ36 rotation. So this hobby is all about what you love not what is "hot" or "not." Too many people wear a watch for somebody else. Wear it for yourself. And a Blue dialed DJ41 should sell reasonably quickly. Even if it costs you some money you will be happier with something else.

Got to try a DJ41 black and DJ36 blue just now. Both in SS and jubillee.
I can see and feel why people like the DJ41 blue. If that was available, i might have been comvinced to get one. My first SS rolex if ever. |

Just out of curiosity, did the hype of the blue DJ influence your decision to purchase it?
I don't think you should try to convince yourself that you like the watch- get rid of it. |

Consider flipping for a DJII maybe? 1.5mm larger diameter and slightly thicker and sportier case
The decrease in size with the DJ41 is what kept me in my II. Also the jubilee makes it less sporty and more dressy so that could be an issue for some as well. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S10 using Tapatalk |
