Three Black Bay Bronze Watches
My AD had a preowned Black Bay Bronze Blue watch that he had taken on a trade in his case. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. I am familiar with the watch as I own the original Black Bay Bronze Brown and picked up The Basel 19 Black Bay Grey. The 43 mm size works well for me as I have a slightly larger wrist at 7.5-7.75 and I find both the NATO's and the leather to work well. I even have a canvas strap from Bulang & Sons made for the Black Bay Bronze's 23mm lug width. Do I need three different color watches of the same maker and style? No, of course not, but I do like them and I had the funds for the purchase, so why not. I will see how ownership and wrist time work for the three, but at worst, I will have some fun.

Lovely. I tried the blue on the other day and was surprised how much I liked it.

When looking at the three together which one looks the best ? From the pictures I would rank then blue, brown, slate grey. With that said they are all nice and any one should be happy owning any of them.

I don’t care for the brown nato. Looks like something from a baby’s diaper. The leather strap looks great on it though.

that's a great trio ! Had the original BBB for a good while and enjoyed owning it.
To think you probably couldn't even get 1 Sub for those 3 beauties ... madness !

Beautiful.
Lucky Guy I’ve got an original BBB. A little while back my AD told me off for wearing a Patek in the sauna and jacuzzi. Said the extreme range of temperatures was asking for a BIG repair bill! Told me only to use a Rolex, so I asked about the BBB, and he said it would be fine so I bought one. And love it. |

Also these are so beautiful and such good value when you compare them to the Panerai’s and IWC versions.
( I do like the Paneria’s Bronzo’s but not so sure about the IWC’s) |

Wow! What a unique collection. I have the original bronze and have been thinking about a blue. Your collection just moves me closer in that direction. Thanks!

I like the one with the grey dial. It would be interesting to see how each one develops a unique patina over years of wear. Great set there! Wear in good health!
