I always get a little upset when I hear that some watch looks feminine because of its size. It is all about personal preference, comfort, and taste. There is a watch guy on the internet that stated that anyone that gets the 36mm is getting a girls watch. Ignorance is abound.

I guess I love my girl’s watch then.

I had the BB 41 for a while and looking at it now it seems giant.

I do like Explorer I, but do agree with you to be yourself and to follow your own choice.

I agree. I read stuff like that, shake my head while looking at my 36mm DJ sitting on my ~7.3" wrist, and move on . . . .

I would have walked away, too. That is one of the most underwhelming Rolexes, to me any way.

If it doesn't sing to you then walk away and let someone else have the opportunity.

Classy thing to do. Kudos to you.

Know you made the right choice. It’s tough given all the hype and noise around Rolex, especially SS models.

Now you can find something that will be a better fit.

I respect your decision, but you are wrong

One month in, and more than anything, I appreciate the readability and simplicity of the 214270. Perfect dimensions, perfect lines, and if you listened to her, you'd realize you have a perfect watch (read: wife).

I’ve just done the complete opposite.
Traded in my BLNR for a new Explorer (plus a fair amount of cash)
The Batman just didn’t do it for me so had to go.
The Explorer however suits me perfectly.
The fact that we are all different makes for an interesting life.

For a second I thought you passed on a 5711 at retail! Lol
Best of luck. You made the right call in this situation.

Having a 6.5 in wrist myself, I understand. The modern Explorer is too big for me, personally. I prefer the OP in 36 and 34.

Speaks to the difficulty of purchasing watches in general nowadays due to the limited brick and mortar availability and the enticing internet pictures and ease of access.

Unfortunately, it's a recipe for frequent buyer's remorse. A watch can look so good online and then fall so low once on the wrist!

OP did the right thing and has now avoided buyer's remorse, as Ben R. stated above.
