Agree it would have to charge in 5 mins for 400 miles and I’d have to be able to charge it in rural areas.

Until then I’m chugging gas in my land cruiser lol

That being said, my Porsche is pretty fast and it sounds so much better. I want a car with a nice exhaust note. I want to feel the hard shifts when I am driving/accelerating aggressively.

I want these things because I am a car guy. If you're not a car guy, I can easily see the appeal of an electric vehicle.

Don’t like the seat covers

If I am in the market for an EV, would definitely consider it.

would you say a modern porsche interior is classy?

i loved the 80s interiors, pasha and pinstripes, dash, functional and basic, but solidly built.

Straight line speed is the most over rated force in all the universe. Not sure how Tesla's handle.

I once had a client with the x. He said it is faster than a Lamborghini. If you want to know my x rated response PM me.

The concept photos look great, but this review in the dark color doesn’t have the same impact.

Us family guys should get to have fun too.

Even with no kids, two dogs require a more practical daily driver and I will off myself beforee setting behind the wheel of a minivan.

I'm glad Porsche made this happen. Always good to have choices. I can't go back to ice cars now.

Straight Line speed is like hitting a home run or bombing it 350 on the golf course. It is impressive, but it is just for show.

I can only imagine your response!

Where is all the electricity and infrastructure going to come from to power all these EVs ? I can just see all the power companies salivating at the prospects of charging us outrageous rates to heat and cool our homes and charge our cars. I doubt solar on every home and building will power a largely electric world. For the foreseeable future, I’ll stick with fossil fuels or mild hybrids.

Looks like an amazing car.

I went phev with my 330e and I love it. I’m a believer in electric vehicle technology and I don’t think there’s any turning back.

"Turbo S - $185k

21-inch wheels

System torque - 774 lb-ft

Overboost - 560 kW (750hp)

0-60 - 2.6s (with launch control)

162 mph top speed

Range - 388 - 412 km

Charging time - 5-80% in 22.5 min

Turbo $150k

20-inch wheels

System torque - 626 lb-ft

Overboost- 500 kW (670hp)

0-60 - 3.0s

162 mph top speed

Range - 381- 450 km

Charging time - 5-80% in 22.5 min

Those are some pretty wild numbers for any car, and up there with the likes of the Model S performance. We don’t have EPA estimated range figures yet.

Now for the tech geeks out there, a bit more about the 93 kWh battery. The battery is made for Porsche by LG, and it is comprised of 396 cells. The battery has a voltage level of 610 V - 835 V, a nominal voltage of 723 V, and max power output of 620 kW."

No, simply a means to keep the traditional model hierarchy and standard features cohesive. Eventually there will be base and S models just like in the other lines.

For the true tree huggers there will be a total leather free interior option as well.

This is along the lines of thinking that horse and buggy drivers had when combustion engine automobiles arrived on the dirt pathways scattered across the USA. Now we have a massive network of roads and easy access to liquid fuel. Where there is demand for solar energy and scalability, an industry will arise to supply it.

There is a finite amount of fossil fuel. There will be continuous solar energy emitted from the sun we circle each year for the duration of the human race, just the challenging matter of capturing and storing it.

I personally enjoy driving my gas-powered car. However, I'd love the convenience of having a topped off electric vehicle sitting in my garage every night, charged up by energy captured on my roof or pulling from a local grid, with the option to charge up quickly on the road, rather than relying on gasoline. Once it's quick and easy to charge these vehicles, and the prices come in line with gas vehicles, we will have reached a tipping point.
