Now I'm kinda glad I'm colorblind.
Not my cup of joe, but if the owner's happy, I'm happy.

I have different taste, and more of a purist when it comes to watches. It's definately unique. Hope he likes it!

No its not my cup of tea either, it makes it look like a watch you would buy from Argos for a teenager. It doesn't look like a Rolex on first looks, so you may as well put another make of watch on.

Hmmm

It's not my style and I think you will find that the vast majority on this site, who are classic Rolex enthusiasts, will not appreciate it. But each to his own, and if it puts a smile on his face then good luck to him.

I would have chosen different dial and lume colours, but I like the PVD treatment and the hands

Cheers

Pete asked me to thank everyone for their comments, good & bad.
He was interested to hear the views of Rolex enthuisiasts as most of the people he knows have no interest in watches at all.
He is very pleased with the watch itself & the service he received from Bamford.
His 2 tone Sub is going to have a well earned rest for a while :-)

Wow, now I know what the ugliest Rolex looks like. I like the leopard daytona better than this.

The PVD looks great - the markers I'm not crazy about but it wasn't designed to make me happy!

It's a truly unique Rolex - I hope he loves it!

I always wondered if Sir Anthony Bamford would look upon people customizing his cars the way his store customizes watches.

I am not to keen on the colour combo but I think overall it looks ok and kudos goes to the owner for doing this and having something he will enjoy.

I really can't see why some members get all bent out of shape when someone does something a little different, this is just a GMT and there are thousends around, it's not like he has modified some vintage grail!!

It certaintly makes a change from the hundreds of wrist shots we see of bog standard Rolies.

Not my thing. I don't like the lavender dial nor the blue markers and hands.

It's his watch and his money. And it's not likely to be copied anytime soon. If he's happy, that's all that matters.

The purple is certainly unique---bet a red or yellow face would be absolutely striking.

The bad thing is resale is destroyed on a watch like this. I buy used Rolex weekly across my counter, and I would seriously only go about $1000.00 on such a watch.

-Eddie
Does that mean you'd pay $1,000 for the movement?
