Looks quite cool to me. I'd hesitate on replacing the dial, too, as there's a certain true Explorer-ness to it.

Surely it won't be a simple "Yes it is real" in 5 seconds and every body goes home happy.
If the AD gives an official documentation with all the works like an appraisal etc then it would be worth it.
