It doesn't make much sense to make a ceramic 44 and FC 44 in identical dial combinations. |

Is there a reason to discontinue the FC models? Like to little demand, to expensive to fabricate, maybe even problems with durability....?

1. wow if FC is discontinued then that is to me the saddest thing in watches afaic since the rolex gmt master lost the pepsi/coke dial
2. ceramic case, ceramet bezel, titanium bezel and screws .. i will be interested in THAT for a ROO .. the ultimate bulletproof watch |

I personally prefer the FC Diver with the yellow accents 'a la' IWC Aquatimer. While the new orange is beautiful, it doesn't communicate 'Diving Tool' by lacking of the traditional yellow utilized in marine equipment. Plus not sure how well and easy to operate are those ceramic crowns. We already had major issues operating the rubberclad crowns on the current SS Diver.
Regardless, I love all the new pieces and I want one so bad!!! Enabling begins!!!! I was honestly expecting a new SS Diver with the yellow accents like the FC.

it seems like the similarity to the IWC aquatimer hit a nerve with AP nudging them toward the orange
i like the new AP diver, looks great!

Thanks Kilyung.....
Now, the question is..... What will be the price point on the new ceramic 44 since the ceramic diver is a lot less! |

The new ceramic piece is awesome, though, and while I can't believe I'm saying it, the price is right when you consider that the MSRP on the stainless steel Diver is $18.9K. Regards, Adam |

Comparing the new ROO44 ceramic to the FC44, I think the FC has a bit more character in the casing.

Actually I had heard that Carbon Diver is not the only FC being discontinued few weeks ago. Are you sure Mike about the only FC being discontinued is the Diver?
Anyway, I do like the new ceramic case. But, IMO forged carbon is MORE special.

I agree. FC is very special - no two cases are the same. I confirmed the news with Howard Parr who's at SIHH meeting with AP. Things may change in 2014.

Strange...not sure why they would keep a 44MM FC and one in ceramic. They would look identical at first glance.
