Thanks, JJ!

BTW: The two pics of the "8" date I took especially for you since I seem to remember that the 8 is your favourite number on the date wheel.

I sold my SD for cash a month ago. Mr Michael Woollhead (YES, that IS his name, JJ! ) paid me a visit and bought it. Michael was the owner of the shop "Vintage Ure" (vintage watches) that was robbed by three armed Serbian robbers in February 2007. Michael later chose to close down his business for good.

Bezel

Do they not put a pearl or anything at top mark of the bezel or just painted ( baked in) ?

Bo,
Superb watch, superb pictures and good luck with her. I do need to ask and learn here, what is that small blackish triangle on the side of the case? Some sort of bar code? Is it removable?

The ceramic bezel insert is very different compared to the anodized aluminium bezel insert and can look both jet black but also kind of like pewter in colour, depending on light conditions. Very attractive!

That is exactly why I like the GMTc because of the construction of the bracelet and clasp. I love the beauty look of the sub and this GMT has simular charactoristics but with a better bracelet...cant wait till the sub comes out like this. Anyways, congrats and welcome back!

As far as "better" or not, that is also subjective. The SD and Sub trump the GMT in depth rating. The GMT IIc and Daytona have the new hairspring, and like Bo said, the ceramic bezel looks great. My Sub bezel now looks somewhat dull compared to the GMT. The bracelet and clasp of the GMT is more solid than the Sub/SD.
Wow I didnt know that the Daytona also had the new harispring. That ceramic bezel does look great, its looks better in person.

WOW, congragulations my friend, I saw your watch yesterday at AD's window I didnt realize that I spent nearly half hour looking all ROLEXes I ve no courage to enter inside in my country cause of mentality here but I will enter inside when I ll be in Swiss with the total for the TT version of your watch, your watch shines more than TT version but when I compare new GMT II TT version with old style GMT or SUB with weak case I see that new style TT looks more sport using yellow color on ceramic boldly instead of goldish tone on the aluminium bezel on it. I ll go with yellow-black GMT II as soon as I can travel. Your watch is also super and is a reason to ve problem to decide which to buy TT or SS, I liked it too, when I was looking from outside for 5 minutes I realized that your SS stayed alone cause there were customer looking to TT version of it inside I noticed a scratch on the bracelet of the GMT even looking from outside of the shop I hope that I will not ve to buy ROLEX that waited several months on the decoration with everybodies touches.

No, there is no (luminous) pearl in the bezel insert of the new GMT IIc.

That is a bar code that contains information about stock at the Rolex manufactory. It is integrated in the plastic wrappings on the watch and can thus be removed when you take off all the plastic on the case sides, lugs, part of bracelet and clasp.

You can read more in my review of the SS Daytona 116520 in the Watch review section.

That is why I made sure that my AD reserved an SS GMT IIc for me in his safe so that other customers wouldn't touch it. I did have a look at the one in the window display, too, though, to compare. But luckily, my SS GMT IIc also had a nicer serial number.
