Hmmm...

I started the week wondering when you were going to post pics of your new DDII?

I see now that there has been a spanner in the works.

I would choose the stick dial for myself, but equally, I truly think the ones you've thrown up for consideration are all winners. As you well know, the trick is choosing the one that is right for you.

Given that you are still not completely decided, I strongly concur with the others who have suggested you take your time.

Maybe once you have ascertained your "final" choice, do nothing for a certain amount of time (say a week or two?) and then see if you still feel the same. Maybe only then proceed with the acquisition process.

Good luck Seth whatever you do. I feel your dilemma from here!

Thanks Julian, your empathy is very much appreciated. I do like every dial option, some better than others, but to me the Arabic gives it a bit of a fresh, almost sporty, feel. And have I mentioned that I like lume ......

I think you, and everyone are correct and patience will be my friend in this situation. Trouble is that patience has never been my strong point. I am working on it..........

I really do think this is the move.....but I will keep.....

In the past, it has always been a search for the perfect daily watch. This has proven unrealistic, and costly.

So I was looking at the WG DD2. It is awesome. But not all that much different from my GMT2C. Yes, I know it is different, but with the color tone and all that, there is much similar between the two.

I have been looking at Patek, AP and Breguet. I have looked at tons of watches. I keep coming back to Rolex. I just like Rolex. What can I say?

I went back to my AD tonight just to take a look. I figure, I might as well explore all the options. I had David hold off on the actual ordering of the DD2 so I could look and think.

Tonight I found the watch pictured below. I felt that it was awesome and looked amazing, and while yes showy, not nearly as blingy as I would imagine. And for me, super duper different (and it has lume). No, it is not fly under the radar....and no, it is not something I would wear every single day. BUT, while I felt in the past I could not pull it off, I am changing my tune (i sometimes do that).

I tend to make decisions very quickly. In some regards this has hurt me...in others it has help me quite a bit. I am moving slow on this....slow for me. I think this might be the one. I am waiting until the morning to decide as David will look for what is available then......but in the meantime, I figured I would post a pic for you all.
What is the exact color of this dial?? It doesn't look white to me.

Love the DD2 in YG. Agree that the Arabic numbers give it a nice modern and sporty feel and I like that dial a lot. Can see where you are coming from on that dial Seth

Not sure how old you are Seth, but think the Arabic looks fresher/younger as well...if you want to get away from old man image some might have of YG.

Personally I love a lot of the dial options on the DD2 but as I don't wear suits and into more casual wear I would love that dial. Can you have a word with David....would he do a better deal ordering two?

On a serious note, agree with others that say take your time deciding. Good luck

Just curious. The cyclops looks out of position in that photo - just camera angle?

Arabic YG DD with lume looks great so if you like it , go for it, no reason not to! I prefer my avatar as others have said too but if you want a simple dial thats the one.

I have 36mm yg DD stick. What I do not like is what they did for the 11 and 12 because of the day window. Not a fan dd2

I love the ivory concentric Arabics. It was my second choice. I went back and forth and eventually chose white Romans but I would have been equally happy with either. I do think the Arabic dial is a little younger and sportier while Romans more classic.

Appreciate the comments. I am 38 going on 46, but I do like the idea that is a youngerish dial and with a little sport look thrown in. I could probably pass for 30 on a good day.

I too rarely wear a suit, so this is nearly perfect as I kind of like being the trashy guy with a bunch of tattoos wearing this watch. But, if ever I really did need to impress and wear a suit, this would surely be the watch I wear too.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. The one thing holding me back is the fact that I have not liked gold for most of my life. On others yes, on me no.

I suppose that maybe I am maturing a bit and my tastes are changing....because now I am drawn to it. It might very well be this site!!!

Rolex should be paying Steve have this thing up and running. The amount of watches purchased just because of all this chatter on there must be staggering. Yes, some pre-loved, but many new for sure.

I am not rushing it, but I am at the same time.....

I am like a freight train going headlong into the unknown. For better or worse, this is how I have lived my life. Pro's and con's for sure, but trying to take this one slow.

Love the Ivory and Concentric, for an epic piece like that though I would personally go Stick or Roman. Look forward to seeing what you choose!

I too haven't liked yellow gold most of my life. I am 46 now and my tastes are changing...starting to like the YG DD. I used to associate YG with old man/old fashioned but either I'm getting older or like you spending too much time on TRF! If I were to get a DD I would have to change my wedding ring from white to yellow gold too! Quite like the idea! I have always liked the Roman Numerals, but that pic of the Arabic dial looks stunnning and as I have said gives a modern/sporty/younger feel that is really growing on me!! Agree that Joel's white dial RN looks great on him!

That watch is class all the way. I love the yellow gold. There's a reason gold has been the standard of the world since the beginning of time.

Seth. Been standing by to see how this would go for you. I would go with WG. The Ivory Concentric Arabic Numerals is awesome. I am going to go WG with the black concentric Arabic numerals. Just pops cool.

I have owned and sold and then re tried on a gazillion times an all gold Rolex. I just can't pull it off. People close to me agree. It just does not suit me.

When I used to wear my RG DD I found myself consciously hiding it by pulling down my sleeve like I was embarrassed to have this on around my casio wearing co workers and friends. I just could not pull it off comfortably.

Some people embrace the YG and RG. It works for them

For me I can do TT or WG or Platinum. But not all Y/RG.

My next will be a WG DD II.

Wanted something other than a blue dial. The black Arabic is amazing. Going to go with WG mainly because of price. The savings will fund my Roth this year.

Arabics look great, and lume is obviously a bonus

I find Romans a bit old-fashioned (other than the diamond-filled ones), and I see sticks as a DJ/DJII option

But as has been suggested already, sleep on it for a week and then revisit the options...

decision made. to the point where David told me it can't be changed again as he placed his order with his guy. i am very comfortable with the direction i went.

i will post the actual watch when it arrives. it will be a somewhat longer wait than i am used to, but hopefully not too long.....

Congrats on making a decision Seth. Can't wait to find out what you decided on. Did you go for the Arabic dial? Loved that one, but Romans and stick are great too. Dont keep us in suspense...which way did you go?

Hey Andy. I actually ordered the one pictured.

That night went out with a customer that I'm close with. He knows of my obsession and has even been to AD's with me.

I told if the decision and he cautioned me against it. He said that if he were looking, he wouldn't think much of it, but if the CEO of his company were coming in, he would suggest I don't wear it. Without going into too much detail he great cautioned me against wearing it to work and stated it could impact my projects.

Truth is I kind of panicked. I was ok with not wearing it everyday, but I started to realize I might be self conscious while wearing it at many occasions I might be at.

I was set on gold though so I went back to my original pick:WG ivory Romans.

This way, I can wear it without any kind of worry.

I love the YG, and hope to get it someday.

But at this price point, for my first, I needed to be sure I'd be comfortable wearing it anywhere.

I feel a great sense of relief knowing explored all my options, yet still came back to the original pick.
