I just sent mine in rsc nyc now waiting to hear what they find, they said 7-10 days which should be any day now. I sent on my 16613 because i discovered a particle of hair under the crystal after a service performed in may. I only noticed it because of the pictures that i took of the watch. Anyway good info rolex does make the process easy..

Great information and pictures. The one thing I wonder about is the paperwork you got stated that there would be a one year warranty on the movement. When I went to the RSC last year it was a two year warranty. I wonder if there has been a change?

It is two years... I'm guessing old forms and not worth updating. Just FYI, it's a new two year warranty with PAID service. A service performed under warranty does not extend the original warranty.

You are right, I would do the same thing.

Icon3 Advisory

I forgot to advice you STRONGLY to take detailed photos of your watch BEFORE boxing it and sending it to RSC. If anything happens to your watch, you'll have photo documentation to support your case.

The receipt for Registered Mail indicates that domestic insurance up to $25,000 is included. When I sent my watch in, the post office charged me nearly $25 for insurance.

What was your experience?

Total cost to ship Registered Mail was $29.97. Make sure they tamper-proof stamp around the box wherever you taped the package. I've heard of RSC refusing packages that didn't appear to have the tamper-proof stamps. If they ask what's inside, please don't say "Rolex" or "watch"! Politely say it's none of their business or simply tell them that it's sensitive timing equipment. Shipping SHOULD take 3 days. I usually call after 4 days to confirm receipt.

The same situation happened to me, i just called rolex and they said they would reimberse any postage. So i paid and shipped it, after they called and said they recived it and will be inspecting the watch i received a check from rolex for postage. Now im just waiting to hear back about their findings... 😤

I agree. This one comes up often and Mike does a great job illustrating the process.

Got a notice from USPS (when tracking you can ask for email notification with any updates) that the watch was delivered this morning. No contact from the RSC yet. I'll call tomorrow to confirm receipt and get a status update.

Took RSC only 5 days to assess the watch and respond. They sent me an email and followed up with a phone call. They're proceeding with a full service under warranty. Estimated to be completed in 3 weeks.

Mike, on the paper it says "case and bracelet scratched" while from the pictures it looks in excellent conditions (most stickers are still on!).
Are your pictures from archive or is RSC being super scrupulous on the assessment?

Won't the destination address already give an indication that the contents would be a Rolex watch?

It's labeled "R.U.S.A." so it's innocuous. I doubt most people have the RSC address memorized. Never write Rolex anywhere on the box or on the Registered Mail slip.
