Back in 2007 when list was £4800, maybe.

Notsomuch these days.

In the UK the smoke has not yet fully dissipated and greys are still asking over retail for BNIB.

I'm not sure how scarce the supply is in the UK. But I had the opportunity to purchase various NEW daytonas at list price in Asia in Nov. 2012.

Pass. I would ask for at least 15% off on principle for even asking you to pay full retail!

I wouldn't... My dad did, even more than retail cause it had the Zenith movement. I don't know how much more valuable that makes it. I'm thinking the seller was just trying to sell more than retail.

Is this a trick question?

Would you pay full MSRP new car price for a used car? I'd tell the dealer 25% off or more or he can keep it.

Obviously that AD has no clue on the current Daytona value...msrp for a used Daytona ?
The AD needs to frequent this forum more often... Pass.....

The AD that is closest to my house is like that as well. "we have a new SS Daytona in the back if you want one?? ". "They are ultra rare". Blah blah blah. Wouldn't own a Daytona other tha a RG on a strap anyhow, but list plus for a SS watch, let alone a used one. Pound sand.

I'd pass, if you e-mail and phone around dealers in the UK you will get a brand new one for RRP !, ok there is a " waiting list", but some "waiting lists" are not as long as others :-). Highly unlikely you will get any AD in the UK to give you money off a SS Daytona, other models yes, but a Daytona, good luck to you if you manage it :-).
Or buy from a trusted seller on here, you might save a few £'s :-)
PS I'd find a new AD, sounds like he's trying to rip you off IMHO :-)

The "Red Flag" to me would be that it went into Rolex for service! I'd say that the AD is insulting you by not offering you any type of a discount. Have you ever purchased from this AD before? If you have, it's even more of an insult.

Agree, as has been said by so many, there is something fishy when a 4 month old Rolex goes off to RSC for a service and polish. I wouldnt want to do business new or pre-owned with an AD such as this.......
