Would you buy used Daytona at list price

Had a call from AD who offered me a 4 month old black steel Daytona for full list price. It has been to RSC and been serviced and polished. Do I go for it or wait for a new one, I am in no hurry. They said no discount on this cash only. Interested in your thoughts

How badly do you want it?
How soon could you get another?
What is the status of the warranty, a full two years?

They seem to be available here but I do not know how you feel about buying grey or preowned.

Why would it have gone to RSC for service and polish?

Not a chance... If you are after the 116520 save a couple grand and buy the same watch (or better) from a respected seller here.... especially if a cash deal.

Of course you shouldn't. Like others have said, wait for new, or the best bet buy pre owned

Is it a joke? How dare an official retailer offer a used watch for full list price? I wonder if Rolex would appreciate such behaviour...

Besides the unfair retail price, I still wonder why a 4 month old watch would have gone to RSC for service and polish? Any good watch repair place can touch up polish a fairly new watch.

They said the original owner had a change of heart, it has been serviced with the full 2 year warranty and like new. I am in no hurry and waiting would suit me better. The steel ones seem very scarce here in UK. I really want a new one and happy to wait then pay list, he just seemed to suggest it may be my best chance. I am not sure if I refuse he will take my name off the list.

Isn't that the truth. They are looking for a "fish."

Pass. 4 months old and they want full price?

Also, it only 4 months old and they took it to the service center? It's already been molested.

Just doesn't add up. They maintain the owner had a change of heart, but that doesn't explain why a 4 month old watch required a service and it definitely doesn't explain the polishing. Red flags imo.

I wouldn't even consider a 4 month old watch that's been polished. And the fact it's been serviced isn't worth much anyway, since it still has 1 year and 8 months left on the original warranty.

This makes absolutely no sense.....you can either get a brand new one OR a 4 month used one for the same price

And then, why in the world is a 4 month old watch going to RSC for service and polish?

Something seems off here

Some of these dealers have some real front.

Someone at the office asked me today about a DJII fluted bezel. Someone from Goldsmiths in the UK had told him how they "would never discount a watch of such prestige" and how it was important to not discount them as they were the best of the best. I told him that if anyone says that to him again just say the word "Patek" and hang up. I've pointed him in the direction of a grey dealer and I'm saving him £1,000.

In case it wasn't clear I would pass and honestly I'd find that kind of offer very insulting. Would an AD ever pay full price for something they sold 4 months ago? I would be done with that AD and they wouldn't be getting anymore business from me.
