Well in that case I would pick the Sea Dweller. While some may not consider it a Sub that's how it started life.

Well if your limiting it to 30 years it's the current model for me but if I can go back 45years instead of 30 it would be the 1680 red sub!

Favorite Submariner model, and why?
Based on your criteria, I'd go 116610LV

Was not able to own a 16610 back then, so current ref 116610 is my choice, and I prefer the new clasp.

LVc...for its bracelet, glidelock clasp, ceramic bezel, date, and I'm drawn to Rolex green. :)

Ok ok. If I had to pick one version, it'd be the 114060.

1680 whitesub
After owning a few submariners, the 1680 white sub is my favorite Sub.
-the size of the 1680 looks better on my wrist than the newer submariners -it has the date, which I use -my model has a service dial and hands, which makes it feel like a new watch -most importantly, I overpaid for it, as I wanted a new one with current ROlex Service, with the papers, box- this one never gets sold

Can't go wrong with any of 'em but I like the 16610LV with black bezel insert for the older case/bracelet style and maxi dial/hands. Having two bezels is also a plus...........

14060m two liner...
Simple clean dial that harkens back to the 5513, but with more modern movement, and of course lug holes. |

The 116610LN.
I think all the changes are better except the wider lugs. |

Mine too - glad he doesn't set the rules at the AD's and limit our buying choices.

Why does it have to be a Sub Date?
