The 16800 is perfection in a daily wearer. Plus, the quickset date and smoother sweep of the second hand are bonuses IMO compared to the 1680 and 5513.

I wear mine on a Gunny leather most of the time though with the coming Summer heat, it may be time for the bracelet.

You can't go wrong.

Here is the photo you wanted. The serial appears to be at the top of the range for a matte dial. For that price, I'd pass. It's a nice piece though, no doubt.

Considering that i will wear mine in rotation with the 1675, the quick set date could be advantage. If i hang on to my 1675 for more then a week, i will be sure to appreciate that feature when its time to wear the 16800

It may have been, but I feel like it was from longer ago than that. I came across it back when I started looking for a 16800 last year.

I think most have chimed in on which is best. All I have to say is what do YOU think?!

Pro's and con's of each.
16800 - most practical watch, a bit larger on the wrist, saffire will show off the matt dial beautifully - let's call it a Modern Classic
1680 - I wouldn't worry about the plexi and water issues.. I have a 40 year old rollie with perspex and as long as you do a service when you get it then you're ok. A mit smaller, for some reason less "classic", but that's me. Still a beautiful watch with a slower beat that can be pure joy to listen to (although the 3135 movement is pure music.. listen to it at night when you go to sleep, quite an orchestra). This has to become a daily wearer though, as you'll go mad setting the date it it's been sitting for a while - absolutely bonkers (and be gentle when you do, watch movements are treated much too agressively when wound or dates ticked over.. gently..)
5513 - Ultra-minimalism. This is the true Jedi master watch. You cannot go wrong with this one, unless you love the date function (like I do). The watch disappears and yet it's there when you need it. Perspecs distorts the dial when seen from an angle, very nice retro feel, and if you keep the perspecs clean (Toothpaste or PolyWax) then you'll see the dial just as beautifully as the saffire one, and with the added distortion it's just a symphony for the eyes.

So there you have it - 5513 or 16800. Your pick

I think i appreciate all the three individually. Personally i enjoy the vintage vibes; such as plexi, patina on tritium, faded bezel etc. The quick-set date hasn't been an issue on my 1675, some days i don't even set it but could be a plus when i am using the watch in rotation. I was more into 1680 and 5513 but when i saw this particular example of 16800 i really liked it. As you mentioned modern classic but still carrying the features of a vintage watch, yet not fully. Half of my heart will still be beating for the others if i pick 16800. Unfortunatelly i have to pick only one up for now, but this will not be my finall sub. I can always swap one another or grow my collection. So I guess i have to see all three on my arm before i get and see what's my heart saying
