This is very important indeed.

It sounds like you have a small wrist, you may want to think of the SDC is going to fit and look right on your wrist. This is where a slimmer Daytona might have an advantage.

Best of luck!
I really like the Daytona, but unfortunately until Rolex brings the glidelock clasp for other models - what will never happen - it wont be possible for me to throw that kind of cash for a model I know I will have issues with adjustment. Thanks again JJ.

Thanks for sharing!
What two watches do you have?

I'm wondering if that will happen to me if I go with a LVC...

i know what you mean and i also try to really analyze what will make me happy in the long run...but i am trying to get myself to accept the premise that i need to try things to know (assuming, of course, there is enough recourse to recover without too much damage). this way, worst case scenario, i take a little loss but also have aboslutely zero regrets or thoughts of 'what if'.

im encouraged in this attitude by experiencing some things that i just wasnt sure about going in or that i stumbled across but that have ended up being something that really pleases me.

if i had been scared to try or doubtful i would have never experienced the happiness they brought me...of course, this is only applicable in cases where there really has been something of appeal to me in the first place.

so, dont let a little bit of uncertainty dissuade you too much!

You're a Sub man, Flavio. I am a sub man too, I have looked hard at a lot of other Rolexes but will probably end up with 2 or even 3 subs myself.

I guess you're right, Neil. If I had means to own many models I would, but that's not my case and when Im about to choose a new watch I can only see Subs in front of me. The SD-C came to mess with my mind a bit.

They go really nicely together, but if there could be only one, and especially with two other black divers, I would go LVc. All the goodness of the Submariner with the extra special twist of the chameleon dial.

But, ultimately, I wouldn't want to hesitate like this between two awesome choices. I think it would just take a breathe and relax and wait until one becomes a "must have" for me.

Exactly. And I have to say your LV-C pics are a very strong argument my friend. Love them. Thanks.

Thanks buddy. So far 29 votes for the LV-C and 30 for SD-C. This is a really difficult choice between two great watches.

The Hulk. Green is not my favorite color, but I never get tired of the Green, and it is not too much. My only other choice would be a TT blue Sub or WG Blue Sub (expensive).

Basically, the Sub is my favorite Rolex by far AND I personally like a watch with some color, to stand out from the sea of black Subs.

The Sub-C is the first watch I have with 100% perfect fit. Im sure I will have less than that with the easy link clasp because I had watches with similar clasps before and they were never centered. My 6.5- flat wrists are a pain to please, specially cause I wear just a bit loose and I demand perfection from the bracelet.
that's why I was suggesting buying white dial Daytona and putting your sub c bracelet on it....

A chance of the SD-C becoming my favorite. Very remote chance but still there. I worry about that and like to have that opportunity with a new watch, and Im almost sure the LV-C wont win my black Subs... Thanks Bill.

Since the majority of watches especially Rolex divers do have a black face there are tons of folks that have a dozen black dialed watches in their collection.

Personally I see no issue at all with adding the SDC as all 3 in your collection are substantially different and worth having for me

I'm voting LVc to give you a little splash of color, but most importantly I think it will be a more comfortable watch for you with your wrists. I have skinny wrists, too, and understand what it's like trying to get the right fit. No wrong decision here, however, as both are really great pieces.

That said, I feel compelled to say this: please don't discount the Daytona b/c it doesn't have the glidelock. It is probably the most comfortable watch I've ever owned. Now if you don't like the way it looks on your wrist, or the legibility, or the lack of date, or any of the other things the Daytona haters always complain about, that's one thing, but the lack of glidelock should not be a determining factor for you. Just my two cents.

Good luck with your decision and keep us posted.

I would never say I hate the Daytona, and a normal person in possession of their mental faculties could never say that, but if I would give a chance for another model without the Glidelock + long clasp I think the GMT-C LN would be my first choice. Best thing to do right now is wait, Larry. With the price of the SD-C the way it is now its not a fair competition. Thanks for your inputs my friend.

What about selling the SubC Date and then buying the LVc and SDc?

Then your collection would be:
-SubC (no date diver)
-SubC LVc (green so they're not all black bezel divers)
-SDc (what may the the ultimate diver in the current Rolex lineup)

I'm sure that makes sense and the huge majority here would do something like that, but collecting watches doesn't always make sense and I would never be happy if I had to sell any of my Subs. In fact Im wearing both right now as I type. Alright, that is ridiculous, but Im at home and my wife is a great girl :)
