My DD is 36 mm and I think it is a great size for it. I do like the DD2 but I didn't like how big it was on my wrist but I have a couple of the sport watches which are fine at their 40 mm size

My favorite watch is 36mm and I like 34mm Rolexes a lot too. Frankly I don't understand the correlation between wrist size and watch size. You size the bracelet for your wrist, not the dial! ;)

Explorer - and prefer it to the 39mm version.
Light and still sturdy.

My first rolex was a tt tog but as I have grown over the years I find the watch is too small for my wrist. It has now joined my wife's collection.

Maybe when we get older we realize the 36 and 40 mm Rolex have the same size where it counts (the dial) and start appreciating the elegance and comfort of the smaller case ? I was well past 40 years old when I started to really appreciate the 36 mm size. Before it was all 40 mm and more. Today I almost always wear the 36 mm. It reminds me a little of led TV's , some come with thick bezels, others with thin bezels, both have the same viewing area (screen). A Rolex 40 mm : A Rolex 36 mm :

I don't own a 36mm but I have tried it on when I was purchasing my 39mm DJ. I'd gladly buy it as a second watch and wear it from time to time or share it with my wife. It looks good on my 6.5 - 6.75 wrist.

Do you mean the 39mm Explorer ? Your signature says you own a 116234 which is 36mm.
