This reminds me of a friend of mine that drives a Massaratti. Over all he's a relatively good looking guy, but he lacks chemistry w/ woman and somehow thought the ride would fix all of that! It bewilders him that no matter how much he attempts to flaunt it, most woman have no clue, or pretend not to notice. If you think about it, Rolex and Massaratti have much in common, as pretty much everyone is familiar w/ them by name...but they fly under the radar a bit, as most of the public don't even realize they are seeing one when it's right in front of their face!

It sounds to me that you are wearing a Rolex for the perceived attention or respect that you are hoping to receive from owning such an affluent brand, as opposed to having purchased it (or received it as a gift) for some important milestone you achieved!

Once you start wearing it with a different mindset, you values will change and you will likely obtain more, not to impress others, but because you have have gained a true respect for the brand...not just the brand name!!!

Try wearing a couple on each wrist and see it that helps to attract the attention you appear to feel that you deserve.....

No one cares. Probably less than 10 people ever commented on my watches in the past 15 years. Of those 10 people, I'd say half gave me grief for spending so much on a watch! If anything, I try to conceal what I'm wearing especially in front of colleagues and clients. I buy watches because I enjoy them and no one else.

You need to explain it to them. Make sure to mention how much it is worth. That always helps.

Maybe ask the teacher to make an announcement for the whole class? Or assign the students a research paper on your particular model.

Because people do not notice?

Because people do not care?

I think everyone focuses on their own vices. Since, to my observation, woman who are interested in watch brands are rare, that cuts out a lot of people. Then you have gamers, new cell phones, and tablets cuts out even more people. Throw in people that do not comment, I am not surprised you have not had a lot of attention. jmho

I use some of that 'strip' led lighting and wear it up my arm. The led's flash in such a way to attract the eyes to my watch.

Its a watch. Most people won't notice it. There are people who wear watches because they want to be noticed... then there are people who simply enjoy wearing them because they like them and don't really care what others think. As for me I could care less what others think. I wear it because its a neat little work of mechanical art that is 'alive' on my wrist. My watch has been noticed maybe 10 or 15 times since I've had it the last 14ish years? Most kids are too busy staring at their phones and tablets these days to be bothered with a watch. Focus on your school work instead of trying to get people to notice your watch!

Hopefully this thread will also help you answer "Is it safe to wear a Rolex to school?" before you decide to create a new thread.

This post reminds me of a story.

The son of a very wealthy middle-eastern royal family was going to university on the east coast, and driving his Rolls Royce to class every day, which obviously got a lot of attention and made him uncomfortable. He sent his father an email explaining that all of his friends took the train to school and he wasn't comfortable driving a Rolls, and wanted to be like everyone else. A couple of days later he gets a response from his father: "Son, we have wired $100m into your bank account so you can buy a train. Study hard."

If you're in college and more worried about whether or not your classmates notice your watch, then you're doing it wrong.

If it's so important for you to be noticed with your Rolex, wear it around your neck. They'll notice it then and view you as an oddball to boot.

I don't think most people have a clue what a Rolex looks like (despite the argument from some detractors that people only wear Rolex to be noticed).

I am fine with this as I wear my watches for me, not for others.
