Don’t be startled by this Daren but besides all the clowning around I find it a bit of my task to give good info about watches in general an Rolex in particular. Been short of this lately. Some of the news I picked up from the magazines:

Poljot are re-issuing some of their sixties watches again. They start off with a non date model with CCCP on the dial. Hand wound and very retro. This is a nice watch for the all round collector and will be a nice conversation piece.

Mechanical watches are becoming all the rage again, I call it the second Renaissance, especially in the mid segment. Another old German brand has been resurrected. Who said that mechanical was dead? Quartz in cheap watches is becoming tacky.

Chronoswiss have released one of their watches with a black skeleton dial. Although I’m not a big fan of skeleton dials (they give me a headache) this rendition looks less confusing. No picture I’m afraid.

While thumbing through the magazines, I realized that after all has been said about Rolex it remains an honest brand. Today I saw a Technomarine watch priced the same as a Sub date. Inside is a run of the mill ETA movement. I know I’m on slippery ground here but I’d take the Sub a 1000 times over the Technomarine.
