Your Smurf pics are the reason I am now undecided. That blue is amazing.
Wowww, scary

WG Sub for me also as I feel its a little more versatile with regards to formal and smart casual attire...

Day date 40
Imo a watch that commands mid 20 should have a little bit of bling factor. It doesn't look much different from the sub in black or green. At least with the day date you have a watch that has a superior movement, a bracelet exclusive to the day date, and just a more unique altogether. Keep in mind I just turned 30 so maybe my taste is relative to my lifestyle

Having owned both I will tell you the SUB will get more wrist time but the DD provides a superior wearing experience.
Hope that males some sense. |

Insane how close the voting has been. Thanks for all the input and advice but to be honest I'm no closer in settling on one. Luckily I have until March to decide, and maybe see if some new dials are unveiled. Awesome pics too guys, thanks for making me want both even more.

The 40 mm Day-Date gets you Rolex's new movement, a great-looking update to a classic design that will likely get better with age, something that actually looks different than your current Submariner, and a model that's much more in-demand in case you ever decide to sell it. The WG Sub gets you a heavier, softer version of a watch you already have, and in pretty much the same metal colour. I just don't see much appeal to the 116619. |

Yes but I think the DD looks great with a tshirt too.
I already have a SS Pepsi and not crazy about the colors on the WG one.

I'm more of a sports watch guy, but I think given your collection, the DD40. And I would go silver dial.

Like you said you already have a YG Daytona ...
Smurf all the way!!! But the DD 40 is gorgeous .... If you didn't have the YG Daytona I'd say DD 40 with champaigne or silver dial first !!! BTW both of those dials are stunning ... But since you already have a YG piece I would get The Smurf Sub!!!! |

DD40 but make it a YG sunburst blue and perhaps different answer even as owner of both.

Of the two I'd go with DD40....Have you considered the 116719 BLRO?

To me the DD40 is the one. I find the smurf substantially less appealing.

Im in the same boat considering the DD40 in RG & YG but the Smurf has caught my attention lately. Tough choice thats why I haven't pulled the trigger and is nice to see someone else in the same posistion.

Are those your only options? Are you also waiting for Basel 16?

I love the president bracelet very much, but the DD40 does not have it for me when I saw it on the wrist. That last thing is very important. You must see it for real on the flesh. So this is what I decided.......
Good luck with your choice

Why not consider a WG DD? I voted to go with the WG Sub for this poll.

YG Day Date 40, but YG Sub Sunburst dial for the win! More sporty too. I owned a WG Sub and enjoyed it until the YG bug took over.
