I understand the car dealer stigma with Rolexes but I don't think the YM falls into any overt category so I think if someone noticed it they would appreciate the actual watch rather than the brand thing.

It's a great watch. Just wear it and enjoy it. Don't worry what others may think.

Eh. Don't worry about it. I'm also in the auto biz. I wore my Sub for years when I was a finance manager. I had one customer comment on it. Now I wear a YG DD. Truthfully no one notices. I'm the GM now and see many customers everyday and no one notices. Wear it and enjoy.

Ditto above. Buy your watch for yourself. Enjoy it. If others enjoy it along the way, so much the better.

As he said, he's Italian, talking without his hands is like cutting out his tongue...

It's not like you are wearing a YG DD, this is not a flashy watch, just grabs attention because of the contrasting color of the dial from the case.

We are our own worst critics. It's just your internal monologue. I'm sure any looks you get will be of admiration and respect for such a well-chosen piece. Wear in good health my friend!

+1. Wear it and enjoy it. Doubtful that someone will decide to not buy a watch from you because of the watch you wear.

The blue dial Yachtmaster is a beautiful watch.

Hard to say if these girls know what it is they are looking at.

On another occasion about 4 years ago I was at a Korean restaurant having a Bim-bam bowl of rice and there was a group of 3 people sitting next to me on my lefthand side. I was alone reading a newspaper waiting for my food. I was wearing my DSSD this time and I was wearing a Polo golf t-shirt. The party was chatting loudly next to me. I wasn't paying attention to their conversation, but they were rather loud. All of a sudden, the whole table hushed up. This caught me off guard as it was noticeable, so from the corner of my eye I looked left from my newspaper and noticed the one chick sitting at the table next to me nod at her 2 male friends, whisper something across the table, and the two dudes glance over at me. Wasn't sure what was going on and was thinking about it for a while. I came to the conclusion the chick saw my watch, knew what it was (probably thought it a Sub) and signalled to her friends.

Maybe he can't because he's Italian. *1

I think the YM is a pretty tasteful model for anyone. I wouldn't be worried about wrong signals. It's just a good looking watch.

It's not like it's a gold plated Movado or anything ;) (no offense. A joke in good fun)

It can always be worse. Recently car shopping I noticed a salesman with a "tourbilion navitimer"

When I purchased my last car, the salesman wore an Omega Speedmaster. I noticed it but the only thing I was thinking about was how I could get a better deal.

I actually bought a JLC MCDC for my first "expensive" watch because I like being under the radar and know that only hardcore watch people would even recognize that it's a nice watch. I just bought my first Rolex (DSSD) and definitely like to wear it under my sleeve because I don't like drawing attention to my watch. I might actually just stick with wearing my JLC as my daily because I don't like people (co-workers, friends) commenting on my watch and knowing I wear a ROLEX

Rolexes don't get noticed that often, except by other watch officiandos. I'm guessing that as you are talking with your clients and expressing yourself with your hands, that YOUR eyes are actually following/looking at the rolex and your customers are following that movement.

My TT Daytona is like a eye magnet. I'm a attorney. Loaned it to a buddy for a month as I was having a friend service his SS sub and I wore my SS YM. He noticed the same thing. Had Judges give me static over a TT sub

I walked into a pub the other day, and someone shouted out "he's got a Rolex, he must be loaded!"
Everyone turned to look at me, I was so embarrassed I didn't know where to put my face.

I wish I hadn't shouted it now.

My Brother is settlement attorney and sometimes I join his closing and 8 out 10 clients are staring at his Breitling Navitimer. Sometimes they say "Is that a breitling" or "nice Breitling"

Look on the bright side you don't get asked "is that watch real." I really hate that question!!

The main reason why I decline to even discuss finance products such as extended warranties, gap insurance, and useless crap like that when purchasing a vehicle is I don't want to get blind sided with his/her Rolex

i post earlier on, but these last few posts got me thinking about all the awkward times i've had people comment on my Rolex, and come to think of it, probably 75% of the times were from employees working at auto dealerships lol.

Anyway, it never really bothered me, and I've never been offended by a comment. Just thought it was a funny perspective swap.

I used to be in a customer-facing job. It's the same thing with tattoos. Plenty of people stare at them, too. I had lots of people ask me about my watch, but most people just stared at it and silently wondered how I afforded it. It never affected my sales that I wore a Rolex.
