well just my opinion, having gone through kinda the same thing. I think if you can get a PM model, it would stop the SS wearing pretty much. At least it did for me. I much prefer the look, feel and weight of the PM models.

I think it would be a good move

Have you seen an AP Royal Oak Jumbo?
Or Patek Nautilus?

I have those same 3 watches and have often thought of the same thing. The big thing that stops me from making this exact move would be I would still have to add cash to the pot to get the sub or the BLRO which I don't want to do especially after moving 3 classics IMO.

I will most likely continue to slowly save for the PM piece.

Yeah you are right, I thought casually that they would be similar to a trusted seller price but you are still a few grand short, Rolex are cheeky with their 1 PM costing 4 SS prices.

Doesn't matter; they're just watches. Wear one or multiples it's all a matter of what makes you feel better.

Not even close to being worth it

There's no gain in owning either the watches you suggest. The movements are the same as in the ss versions. If you really want white gold buy something that has a movement that's exclusive to the wg version.

Look at Patek, Lange or Vacheron if you;re going to spend that money then look at the movements and how they're finished, then decide.

Otherwise enjoy three terrific examples of what makes Rolex a great watch company.

Would someone with a BLRO or smurf trade in for three SS models?

Do the trade, both are beautiful watches!

If it's truly your Grail, then I say do it. However, if possible keep one to compliment your PM watch. I'd keep the sub and get the BLRO. Good luck deciding.

Wouldn't do it.....unless you need that much weight/precious metal on your wrist. It's a personal choice though.....I'd much prefer a rotation/flexibility especially with your line up.

I mean... I def. wouldn't. I do think some versatility might be needed, though. I'd drop the Explorer and either the Sub or the BLNR and rock:

Datejust II/DJ41
Sub/BLNR
Tudor Black Bay Bronze

I just traded my TT subc and deep sea for a YG subc w blue sunburst. I'm glad that I traded those two in bc after wearing gold, you don't go back.

You'll see.

Unless you are Bieber you only need one watch for one wrist, you might as well where something awesome, BLRO and sub would be my choice, you would still get a good resale on the BLNR.

Keep BLNR and get smurf
Or
Keep Sub and get BLRO

I may be playing devils advocate and i may not be considered the most credible source because I don't own any PM, but I say stay with what you have. You have 3 very sexy sports watches. I've spent many nights up getting ready to pull the trigger on the smurf but I can't because the flat blue dial just rubs me the wrong way. I can't pull off yellow gold so that's not an option for me yet. I do think the BLRO is the most sexy option here but something about the cranberry red also rubs me slightly the wrong way. So I, like you, have stuck with 4 stainless sports models (and I did sprinkle in some color with a two tone bluesy). If Rolex put a sunburst on the 116619, it would be an incoming for me. If anything you could consider the BLRO, but make sure that cranberry red works for you because I can tell you I prefer the BLNR aesthetics any day of the week.

With that said, I am still itching for the weight and feel of some PM. but you gotta love the whole watch and not just the weight and feel

the BLRO is one stunning watch. I have always preferred that bezel design to the sub's. I say go for it but can't say that I would personally be satisfied doing it because PM only represents incremental value to me rather than exponential.

Dont see anything wrong with the decision, but you need to slow down and take a breath! You just bought two of them and are already considering flipping all....what next?
Wear the watches and enjoy them for a while....see what you like.

No I wouldn't. I prefer your current line up. I have a WG Patek that I never wear and a RG Rolex DD I don't wear. I really thought I liked the BLRO and was planning on adding it but when I saw it in person and tried it on at the AD it really didn't do anything for me. PM Rolex watches don't hold their value very well. I much prefer the SS Rolex watches. I'd be much more inclined to sell a PM watch and add something special and pristine from the vintage line up.

Of course we are all different so for you the trade may make perfect sense. I am much more drawn to the BLRO although Charles' WG Sub looks great in that picture. If I were you I'd also consider an AP, VC, Patek or other. In the end it comes down to doing what works best for you. In some ways I wish I could go with one PM piece. Maybe some day. I hope whatever you decide works well for you.
