I have numerous watches, mostly Rolex but as already said FPJ is a different class of watch and watchmaker. And for that I would buy Journe.
Buy whichever you like more and enjoy.... |

I am more than sure if the brand was to disappear it would be kept alive by Richemont or some other company, they have become a serious brand in the horological world and are recognized as such, FPJ is a high end brand, Rolex, sorry for the lovers is not, just look at the movements and finishing, and I had 4 Rolex, 1 of which was RG ceramic daytona, and I like sport watches but choose FPJ, the only problem servicing is 2500 dollars minimum, not cheap...

Picture any given week and ask yourself which one would get more wrist time. That should make things easy.
Also, FPJ has a succession plan - he would be mad not to. All comments about future serviceability are baseless imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I vote for the Daytona. At one time it was my grail watch. But no longer.

Dressy watches on straps don't end up worn with me, so my choice would be the Daytona...and the meteorite is a killer dial. Legibility issues aside, IMO only the ice blue on the platinum can compare to it.

Next watch: Daytona Meteorite or FPJ CB
A dial crafted from billion y.o. ultra rare material that crashed to earth maybe another billion years ago...or blue steel dial...hmmm...

I voted for the FPJ. It is one watch that I would love to have. I think it's gorgeous and my love of the colour blue cements that for me.
In saying that I have never seen one in person so I hope if I ever get to that I will not be underwhelmed by it.

FPJ...by a mile. I am biased but did sell my CB this week for the CS. The only watch I ever made a profit on!

for what its worth I have heard first hand from people in the industry that the reliability of FPJ movements is NOT good.

+1000 This may change as I get older, but I've been there, done that with the dress watch thing and they don't get enough wrist time for me to justify the $$$. I want my most worn watches to be the most expensive |

When it comes to meteorite dials I think I like the platinum DD the best, for some reason never been too fond of the meteorite Daytona.
But personally a WG Daytona in my collection (I'd probably choose the Panda dial) would get a lot more wrist time than the Journe. I absolutely love the Journe, and if I had enough daily wearers (which look like you probably do), and was looking for something more dressy, but knowing I would probably only wear it a few times a month, then I would go for the Journe. |

Daytona. The service issues for an FPJ are legendary and are more than enough to steer me well clear.

FPJ , you can kill the itch with a steel daytona(same movement and finishing, except dial of course), the bleu, is haute horlogerie

FPJ no doubt. As many have said, it is true haute horology. Other than the fact the Daytona is white gold it has the same movement. Really comes down to if having a solid white gold watch is the driving force or owning a true handmade work of art.
Granted if you do decide on the Daytona, I would wait until the white gold version comes with a ceramic bezel. Dings on the soft metal bezel would not work for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Finding a CB is quite a challenge. I've been on the Hong Kong boutique's wait list for over a year.
The AD in SF last saw one 3 years ago. |

Ohhh, these are 2 watches that I really really like.
Nonetheless, they are so different!! Whats the purpose you're looking for?? A daily beater or a social watch?? If you're going to use it regularly, go with the daytona, I prefer watchs with a bracelet for the continuous use. If you are looking to a watch for more formal occasions, FPJ. It also depends on what your collection is... Do you have any independent? Do you care for fine finishing and decorated movements? Or do you prefer durability? Considering the stage that MY collection is, I'd go with the FPJ. If it was going to be my only watch, the Daytona.
