Depends on the price. If they cost the same, then obviously go for the new one if you can get it, but don't forget that they're not making any more 116520s.
There's tons of hype for the new version now, but it will become a common watch soon enough. Normally with Rolex, and especially with Daytonę, the older models eventually become more desirable than the newer ones. That may take quite some time to happen with the 116520 vs. 116500LN, however. |

If you get the 116520 now and start saving, by the time you have enough you *might* be able to pickup the 116500. By that time you might not even want it anymore.

The steel bezel Daytona is plain perfect and they won't be producing them again. I'd buy the one with the steel bezel now that I can and later on pick up the now standard with the ceramic bezel.
The bezels on the older Daytonas are wonderful because they are so crisp. The more modern steel bezels provide the watch a solid look and blend nicely with the case. The ceramic bezel won't scratch, well, it's new, it doesn't look bad at all, but it's "different". I own both white and black dial steel bezel Daytonas, and I'm in a wait list for a white dial ceramic bezel Daytona. |

Ceramic for sure. Have had both on my wrist and am glad I got the ceramic! That being said you can't go wrong with either, both gorgeous watches with their charms.

I own the 116520 and expect to get the call this quarter for my 116500. New one for sure, though I'll be keeping the "old" as well since I bought it BNIB from AD.

Yes! Same here. It has a totally different look/feel (bigger on the wrist imo - 116520 looked small on me). I also love the dial being more glossy. The bezel's scratch proofness also doesn't hurt. Get it. You won't regret it. Congrats in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got told in Knightsbridge that the new ceramic has a 8 year waiting list?
Was the dealer still drunk from the night before? Needless to say she was stunning and petite rocking a Sub Batman |

LOL - no, I don't think the wait list is 8 years, may be 2-3 years if you already have an established relationship with local AD. I guess in 8 years, TS will have tons in stock and for sale below MRSP.

New ceramic for sure. The older is nice too and a legendary watch but definitely a scratch magnet whereas the ceramic bezel should keep appearance for many years to come. The Daytona will always be desirable and a classic and I think the new model will be one of the most sought after. Rolex really nailed it's look and I think the font type on the ceramic bezel has a lot to do with that, it's superb and suits perfectly. The dimensions are perfect too, enjoy your watch.

The new one because the shiny, steel bezel on the previous version is a scratch magnet. I sold mine because it really bugged me!
