It looked white on the picture claimed to be of the watch being bought. I was unaware it was the same 16618 in the other pics. It's a stunner complete with cream wheel that being the case.

Z series 16618 all the way (mainly because it was my grail watch and I finally got one from a trusted seller). New version looks a little clunky to me (although I have a stainless no-date sub and the glide-lock is pretty cool). I think a rehaute 16618 just might hold it's value pretty well over time.

Glidelock and bigger shoulders all the way, but a fantastic deal might be made on the older version.

It's the more elegant lugs and CGs that makes the 5-digit version's design flow much better than the 6-digit version. So, I guess the 16610LV is partly to blame for choosing the 16618 instead of the 116618. Had and have Sub with glidelock - and I know I like the feature, but use it very, very seldom.

Nice one Bjoern ! I was in the same position and went with the 116618. I do like the tapered lugs and charm of the 16618. I think you made the best decision for yourself...

I got the 16618 because it looked better on my small wrist, was more comfortable, and, imho, more exclusive. I also think the z serial will hold it's value better than the new version. I also think rehaut, sel's, and the more solid band helps the z serial hold up better than some earlier 16618's. These are all just opinions of an amateur (me), however.

As if you can go wrong with either one! ;)

My personal preference is the 5-digit, and in fact the one with lug holes (early 2000s and prior), because of the case dimensions but predominantly for the chamfers (my kryptonite).

I am sure you will enjoy your 6-digit though! Wear in good health!

All 16618 - even the early ones - have solid endlinks and solid bracelet center links.

There have been countless threads about this topic. I tried on a 16618 in 1998 and the bracelet was pretty darn light relative to my 2006 model.

im torn between a rehaut engraved 16618 and 116618. that said the bracelet and clasp are much more robust on the later model.
