Buying YG - so 16618 or 116618?
Both have design elements I like - and dislike. Hard to sanction which one. I shall choose one, though. :)

New model all the way. More overall gold, solid bracelet, glide lock clasp, AR coating under cyclops. No comparison for me,

I commented on your IG pic too. I would take the newer. I'm just not one for vintage. The newer case, maxi dial, bigger crown guards, and even clearer date (which is probably just because it's new), do it for me.

Newer not only because of the pros but also price. The problem with 16618 is the price is a little inflated. Might as well save a little more and get the 116618.
By the way love the 116618 and hoping to buy one soon.

116618 but if a good deal was to be had on a 16618 I would jump on it!

Cannot believe I am going to say this...go with the 6 digit.
For the most part been a die hard 4 and 5 digit guy. Recently was on the fence over a 16613 VS 116613. A friend and fellow collector talked me into the 6 digit and I am really impressed with the new features. I have had 3 of the 16613's over the years and one was a daily wearer for a long time so have plenty of experience with the 5 digit model. The solid link bracelet, glidelock, maxi dial/hands, and the color of the ceramic insert are just awesome on the new model. Hands down prefer it much more than the 5 digit. I never liked the maxi cases until I wore one for a while. The other features win out over the case preference for me. |

Thanks for your valuable input. I went the way my watch heart pointed; classic look and not the objective "how much gold can you get". :)
Those stickers are sure reaching their LC. Image by Ocrolexguy. |

GREAT choice. Love the older model more...nicer deeper dial and less clunky case. Enjoy it!

The 6-digit version just seems a tad - too much.

O.K., thanks for the clarification....but, besides the bracelet, the 6 digit model is superior, IMO. Once you get accustomed to the glide lock clasp, anti-reflective coating under the cyclops, beefier case with more gold content, maxi hour markers, ceramic bezel insert, larger bezel ring, I humbly say the 116618 is the clear winner.

Little late here. Glad you went with your heart Bjorn. Both have features I like. Both do the same thing, that's tell the time and look great doing it. An NOS five digit model will be harder to come by in the future. If you find it doesn't work for you, easy enough to flip for the ceramic version. Looking forward to it's arrival

Well done. What a stunner. The date wheel should be cream coloured, you might want to check before you buy.
