I'm very old-school and do it according to an old instructions manual from Rolex.

I use WristClean by Varaet, I find it does a better job than regular soap and water.

I use Veraet sometimes, it will give it more shine, if that's something you like. Otherwise soap and water as described by others here. I also use Veraets super soft toothbrush/watch brush.

Diluted Dawn dish soap and water has kept this beauty look so go over the years. I keep a pump of it next to the sink and wash often. The trick is don't let gunk build up in the bracelet and it will always be easy to keep it clean.

Soap, water and if needed, a soft toothbrush. Dry and polish with a microfiber cloth, or even a piece of chamois. Cleaners such as windex, ammonia, eyeglass cleaner, etc, actually can break the seals down, making your watch vulnerable over time to water seepage or other contaminants infiltrating it. Nothing makes it shine like a warm water bath and good drying afterwards, either.

My daily wearer comes in the shower spending on the day. A little sweaty, gym or other dirtier outing and it get a wash, like washing my hands just with the watch between my fingers. Then once very 1 or 2 weeks, depending on how dirty my endevours were, I soak it in soapy water for 15-30min with a good rinse. after that it feels like new. Done so for years.

try searching the forum before posting - this has been talked about sooooo many times. It's a chunk of steel, sapphire, and maybe some ceramic depending on your model - just freaking clean it. You could spray 409 on there and it would be fine.

soap + water + toothbrush -- the near-universal recommendation of TRF.

for tough caked on dirt and grime use 100% unicorn tears.

It's amazing the crap that comes out the bracelet of a seemingly clean watch. This is how I've always done it and they come up looking beautiful and smelling like Molton Brown....always a benefit haha!
Ahh....but which fragrance?

(I'll look out for a BLNR wearing shopper next time I'm in )

It's got to be black peppercorn.

If you like Molton Brown, then you'll love Noble Isle! Try the Whiskey and Water fragrance.

Quick question on the exact type of soap to use.....
I see most people are mentioning using dish soap, is that really the best? I know that one should never use dish soap to wash a car because it will strip the wax off. Would we have the same concerns for our watches?

I wipe it down with a microfiber cloth everyday and wash it under the tab with warm water and a soft children's tooth brush once in a while.

That's exactly the reason why you should use Dawn dish soap. It breaks down dirt and oil without leaving a film behind. It's also gentle on the rubber gaskets. Its safe for baby marine animals, it's safe for a watch. I hope you are not waxing your wax???

If you're not going to use a speciality watch cleaner, then stick to basic non-alcohol based soap (such as blue dawn) and water. Micro Fibre for drying. Some may use, but I avoid tooth brushes and their bristles, especially on PM pieces...

Soft toothbrush and warm water. Sometimes I'll use a light soap

I just wash mine when I wash my hands with softsoap...I used to use the toothbrush and dish detergent, like dawn until I saw people saying not to use detergent so I figured softsoap is probably he most mild soap.

RSC in Dallas has confirmed for me in the past that Dawn works just fine as a mild soap recommended by Rolex. They of course mentioned that you need to use the versions without alcohol and ammonia etc. I believe this is always the blue color soap that sometimes includes wildlife on the bottle. I'm sure other similar products work great as well. Your biggest concern is deterioration of the seals. Anti-baterial soap for example is a big no no

Its like washing a car to avoid scratches in the paint. Use soap and water only.
