Builds character! Nice story to tell your child if you hand it down to them.

Sorry to see this OP.
If the watch is running ok, I'd leave it till its time for service. I generally leave case or bracelet dings alone. Bezel or crystal marks are another matter. |

I had a similar incident ...
I brought it to a jeweler friend of mine and had him clean it up ever so slightly just to take off the roughness out of the ding, I asked him to go as light as possible and be careful not to alter the edge/angle. Was just interested in getting it finished so when I ran my my finger over it, i wouldn't notice it so much. The whole thing took 3 minutes, It came out perfect. I'm very happy I did it.

I disagree with most. I dont feel it gives the watch character. If it cant be repaired to perfect, i would flip it. Great story? Like telling grandkids you fell in the snow

Thanks for all the comments guys. If it keeps running fine, I will leave it until later in the year when I plan to get it serviced and polished up and see what magic the RSC can do.

If it's a pride-and-joy watch, I'd want it polished out best as can be achieved... if it's just a tool watch to the wearer, then leave it.
Scratches and minor blemishes are one thing, rough gouges/chips another. I know the DSSD, SD's and Subs are supposed to be a professional tool watches, but to many they aren't. One thing to be said though is that it's testament to the robustness of these wee machines... all those tiny cogs, springs, rubies and a crystal face; and a smack on an impassible surface yields no greater damage than a couple of impact chips. Drop your phone the same distance on to the same surface and see what happens |

Ouch... But better than I expected from description. Would just wear and wait for service to consider options on aesthetics repair if running well.

Here in The Netherlands we say: Shit happens !
I would definitely do a waterproof test by a RCS ! To check that there is no crack in the glass (on the underside where you can not see it). If it was my watch I would bring it too a RSC for a check inside. Checking: rotor jewel & pivot, case screws. Nice link: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=71661 Too bad for you 😣😖 |

Nothing wrong with some scars on a tool watch. It was built to stand up to some punishment and I'd be proud of it.

Priority is fix the tile first. Sharp edges may cut your foot.

Also got attacked by my bathroom floor back in 2015. Did nothing, watch works perfectly. Shall reflect about it at time of first service

Leave it. It's a rugged watch and meant to have a little signs of use on it in my opinion. Quite honestly, I think you faired well compared to what could have happened with the watch. I have heard stories of those who need a whole service in addition.

Doesn't look bad at all! Keep it as is. Otherwise they're going to seriously polish that down and you'll regret it later
