@Devildog

Thank you for your advices. I tried to answer but the response was blocked. Probably because I used the word for boyscouts but for adults ;-) Don't know how to paraphrase it differently but that's about my education...I don't know how I would feel about wearing such a shiny watch...I love the watch but wouldn't feel comfortable with every body staring at it...

@Devildog let's say it like this. I'm usually more of a discreet person. I love the bluesy but I'm afraid to attract too much attention with it because I wouldn't feel comfortable with every body staring at my watch...

Thank you all for sharing your opinions. I just figured this out. I'll go black because even if I love the TT Sub blue my inner voice tells me that's it not quiet my style. Just like I would love a red Ferrari but the black Lamborghini fits my style better ;-)

Does this seem like a legit way of thoughts to you ?

Go blue! For black and gold combo you can later choose Daytona, GMT or Datejust 41

Same here, except that I'll avoid autocorrect and say too blingy for me. My blue one (gorgeous) lasted almost two years before I sold it.

OK, so you may not know what "blingy" means, especially since it's not really a word. Bling is flashy, pretentious, shiny, attracts attention. There's nothing wrong with that, if that's what you want. I prefer to be a bit more subtle, unnoticed.

Yes.

And don't forget, it's just a watch. You can always sell it later and buy something different. The resale on the two tone Rolex is much worse than on a stainless steel model, so I always recommend buying used if you can.

Blue is currently hot, on this forum especially. It tends to be casual. Black is timeless and far more versatile. As others stated, black may be the better choice for one watch and should have an easier resale market.

I had the blue all gold sunburst dial. It screamed blink and stuck out like a sore thumb. There is really no where you can wear that watch. So I sold it much regretting I did not buy the all gold sub with the black dial. That is my next one I think.

Blue for sure. And and for the record I'm the GM of a Toyota/VW dealership and we do sell used cars.

Blue. You have many other options in black dials in the Rolex line. Blue works fine for a daily. Before I had a collection, I wore a 16613LB daily for 10 years. Some say it is too blingy, but it really comes down to how you carry yourself. The blue dial and YG just work well together.

Is there the need to ask? Definitely the blue. The blue even look excellent on rubbers. Perhaps I am bias. See for yourself.

for everyday, go for the black.
there's a reasons why the blue moves slower.
What proof do you have the blue dial sells slower?

FWIW, the blue dial can be a daily wearer and many do. It can compliment just about any attire, casual or business.

This forum prefers the blue and the sunburst dial is beautiful. I think the black is classier. But that's just me. What matters is what works best for you.
With those pictures, it is really hard to say no

As this pic shows the dial is very dark indoors so really like the black, only when out in the sun does it sparkle, so you get two watches in one really.

Blue - just bot one and it is stunning in person, hit me the same way the Hulk did when I take it out in the sun - once you hold one you will know, or not:-)

OP, having owned an LB for the last 10 years almost, I can tell you that blue is the best color combo.

But it seems like it won't fit your lifestyle (as per your posts above), and black/gold will be better for you. You can't go wrong either way. I think you will be happy either way.

I understand those of you who say that the black and gold combo is available on other models. But those are not subs. For me, my one and only luxury watch will be a TT Sub. Black or Blue. Here are both TT subs side by side...both beauties but not quiet the same style...like I mentioned before, I do love the blue dial TT sub. I'm just afraid of it to attract too much attention. As the black dial TT sub, I feel, is more the under the radar one which goes with my personality...that's the dilemma ;-)

Again, thank all of you for your opinions. They are much appreciated.

Definitely the blue. You can have black dial in so many different other Rolex models. I think the blue in the sub is truly special, be it the TT or the smurf.

You have answered your own question. No one other than you can account for your personality. Go with the black/gold and don't look back. It is a gorgeous watch!

Well, I feel I could be in the scenario where I might resale the bluesy after a few month because it was too intense...I'm rather a humble person then a overconfident one. But again, the TT sub with the blue dial reminds me a magnificent gem. So nice. Ha...it's such a hard choice...the comments proof it as there are split opinions overall...maybe I will have to safe up for both lol ;-)
