I agree - the Rolex aisle needs to be next to the HVAC and Garage Doors...

Glad to be of service

Fellow Houstonian here. The Costco on Richmond and Wesleyan has them regularly. However the one in Katy never has them. I've never seen anything more expensive than lower end Breitling's in there. They likely put Rolex in areas where the demographics meet certain criteria, like close to River Oaks.

That's good to know. Only been to that one a few times but may have to stop in more often. I normally go to the Sugarland location and have never seen anything better than Breitlings there.

My first Rolex came from a Post Exchange in Germany circa 1965. Every Veteran can now shop in the Mail Order Part of the Post Exchange system. They have Omega but not Rolex.

I have never seen a Rolex in a Costco here in Las Vegas. Since you are talking about a single watch, now discontinued, I don't believe that Costco has been appointed AD status by Rolex USA.

No question about it, Costco has no AD status. They are strictly grey.

Usually they're in the same area as other jewelry, computers, eye glasses and other high end items. So as it's obvious there's no familiarity with Costco on the part of the poster, such speculation is actually totally without warrant.

I for one would ask that they at least put the watch in a separate bag. What if the Miracle Whip jar broke? Is a Rolex Miracle Whip resistant?
Another speculation by someone who obviously knows little to nothing about the chain. Ill informed humor only really shows ignorance. Costco has a no bag policy.

I have no doubt they honor their corporate policy. It might take some work overcoming potentially ill informed employees (it happened to me with lazy employees there) but in the end the member would win out.

Perhaps but once again corporate policy rules.

More uninformed humor aimed at uninformed readers. Again, the Rolex watches are always with the jewelry island and at the entrance to the store frequently.

Do you work for Costco? It is not readily apparent why you take such umbrage with the above lighthearted posts.

Because I've been a member for 25 years and they've served me very well. "Light hearted" posts at the expense of a corporation or member are inappropriate imho. Especially when to anyone with real experience they are obviously BS. This forum holds people accountable for their posts all the time. Why should Costco be attacked and others not. If it were a forum grey the Mods would be all over it in a second. Or as Einstein is reputed to have said, one of the saddest things is to see an innocent theory ganged up on by a bunch of brutal facts.

Whoops...
Was never my intent to step on anyone’s toes.

My OP was not a rant against Costco - and said so in that post. I’ve been a member since they came to the ATL (a defector from Sam’s Club).

And I suspect almost everyone posting here are also loyal Costco’ers, too.

My light-hearted retort to seeing a Rolex next to tubs of mayo was surely no disparagement towards Costco. When we stop being able to have light-hearted repartee, what is the world coming to?

With malice towards none, and charity to all...

Without personal affronts aimed at anyone...

The occasional juxtapositional jest about a big company ought to be taken with a grain of salt methinks.

Ok, now we let you get on your high horse and sound off every time there's a Costco thread, but what are you saying here exactly?

I'm going to visit my Costco to see if they have a SS Daytona.

Rolexes are commonplace at the Costco stores in my area. One thing I did notice, however, was that they had a two tone 26mm ladies datejust w/diamond dial in the display case WITHOUT any stickers whatsoever. Not a one. I asked to see it because I couldn't believe it didn't have any stickers on it? The guy took it out of the display case and let me take a look at it. Sure enough, not one sticker anywhere. I asked him if this was a new watch? Of course, he said that it was. And he did say that if I purchased the watch that the one I was holding (in the display) was the one I would be getting. Not like I would be getting one 'from the back w/stickers'.

Anyone have any ideas as to why no stickers on a new watch? Just curious.

Since you can buy Rolexes from grey dealers online via Amazon and Walmart, it doesn't seem much of a stretch to me to have Costco displaying them. (And I have the greatest respect for all three as business entities).

Adam, I do get your point about being harsh in my statements. I apologize for that. That was clearly inappropriate. I could have made the same corrections a bit more gently. If you'd like, feel free to remove my comments and I can add the corrections with greater finesse. Happy New Year.

Perhaps a choice to help show them off better? I've only seen two in a display case in person and I must admit to them not having stickers that I noticed. I don't recall ever seeing them in any of the photos here either. Or perhaps it's the ADs choice to remove them prior to selling them to Costco.

Not likely; they seem to pick-up mainly watches that aren't in high demand, imho.
