For me its business ethics and quality. You have countries out there that can`t even make powered milk without killing people, the same with dog food. And countries that have no concern for the evironment. If they can`t get that right I`m not sure how well they could do on a watch. It is what it is. It is a swiss watch and I expect it to be made there. My scotch better be made in Scotland !!!!! My allen-edmonds shoes are made in the US, I pay more for them but they are great and I feel good about buying them... If they go offshore I will drop them. Thats what I did with my Hartman luggage...they started importing and now I buy Ghurka luggage....its better anyway.

If it says "Swiss Made" on the watch, it'd better meet legal criteria for such a designation. If not, we'll be talking class-action lawsuit.

Don't care too much about where it's made as long as it's not China/Mexico/Taiwan etc etc.
My Sinn is made in Germany and it is great quality. |

I think the "Swiss Made" sign is important because the Swiss are known for their craftsmanship.
And to the people who said this is racist, get over yourselves.

I must admit that if I found that Rolex outsourced the assembly of their timepieces I would rethink them as a desirable tangible asset.
Just my 2 cents worth.

most of the parts are made in China already. All the raw material are all imported. Steel from India or Sweden, Gold from Russia or China. You never know :-D
However the watches are essembled and tested in Switzerland |

I saw absolutely no point in the subject matter of this thread and people giving it the "freedom of speech" routine need to consider that this is a private forum.
58 posts in and absolutely no nutritional content. Perhaps it's time to close this one before more members play chicken and stick their neck out to far?

Unfortunately these are the threads that divide Forums geographically and politically and as can be seen this is what happened.
The original post specifically mentioned China and India but was changed and diluted. - why change it - unless you felt you were wrong? It was IMO a TROLL post seeking to split the Forum into those who were better than others - and to post a private message from The Boss and complain about how badly you have been treated is Steely threw a curve ball and it was smacked. Anyway, I am happy that my Rolex watches are Swiss Made - that is if they are Swiss Made - they are Swiss Made - aren't they? - I mean all of it? - all Swiss Made and Swiss assembled ? Here's a pix of my new TT Sub I know it's real cos it's stamped 'Made in Scotland' on the caseback.

I took the original post to mean, "How would you react if you learned that Rolex has been committing fraud by having their "Swiss Made" watches assembled elsewhere?
If Rolex had built its reputation as a Chinese company, then I would suspect that no one would care because China would then have a reputation for making the world's most recognizable watch. Whatever the original posters intent might have been, I see no reason why all the attributions regarding his intent have been made.
