Do you have a link to the article? I would enjoy reading that as well.

Not for everyone Peter. There are still those of us here who buy with no intent of ever selling, much less flipping for profit.

Who cares? If my watch is worth 75% of its value, 5 years down the road, I think that's fantastic. What other $5k-$25k purchase (that you use daily/weekly) maintains that value?

All these people constantly talking about 'investment' or 'value increasing' are missing out on the point of owning watches in the first place. This is supposed to be a fun hobby. When you're focused on xx amount of dollars, you'll never enjoy your watch to begin with.

Precisely
If you are thinking about future value - it's probably best not to buy it

Highly doubt they will discontinue BLNR. Multiple bezel options existed in the GMT range for decades, why would they decide to change that thought process now?

It is a mass produced modern Rolex. They aren’t rare.

And it was made for 8 years.

That is the definition of a mass produced item. These aren’t 100 production run Ferrari’s.

Rolex has made a lot of BLNR, I doubt it will become a collector's watch anytime soon if ever.

Invest your time and energy into building personal net worth - not waste it on watch speculations.

Really? They made a lot of 16710's, 16610LV's and 116520's as well and guess what? Hmm I will say the opposite and use history as my guide. The fact is when desirable SS Rolex sports watches get discontinued the prices move up and this one will be no different when it's time is up. Not to mention the fact that they are already selling on secondary for premiums and they are still in production.

I heard Rolex is getting rid of all the superhero models. They're tired of people coming in stores talking about Rolexes as if it's a comic book gathering.

Still way too expensive at £8375 and £8475 for a 2015 and 2017 BLNR.

It's not getting discontinued. Only in your dreams. Enjoy the watch and don't be one of those speculators.

I think many people wish their watches will be discontinued the moment they bought them. We all like rarely pieces and always want whatever we have appreciate, but it doesn't have to be like that.

Every year will change, let’s say 6 months after the disco yay date, my guess would be 11-13k for a BNIB fully stickered example.

First, To say definitively “it’s not getting discontinued” is no different than saying it is (which the OP never did btw).

Second, Telling people what they should or shouldn’t be is lame.

If the OP wants to be a speculator, be a speculator. If it bothers you, don’t comment in the thread. Click on.
