Value of BLNR if it gets discontinued...?
Just curious, what do you think my 2018 BLNR would be worth if this piece gets discontinued later this year?
Thanks |

What’s your basis that it’s going to get discontinued this year? There is no factual evidence to support your claim and the BLNR is one of the most sought after GMT’s.

The answer depends if we see a 126710BLNR follow behind it. Chances are high that we will. There's no reason for Rolex to discontinue the BLNR entirely.

Why this hysyerical speculation around this BLNR? In my opinion it’s already overpriced as ****.

Maybe you should only comment if you’re going to answer the question. I’ve used a word in my question which is rather pertinent - ‘if’.

I would expect the value to maintain at current levels or perhaps go up a bit. Great watch.

Anything anyone tells you is purely speculation. There’s just no real way to know for sure.

I agree with the replies that say this amazing watch (got mine in June 2017) May be upgraded to the new 3285 movement but as one of their most sought after gmt models, the BLNR is here to stay for awhile longer.

Like all thinks its only worth what someone will pay,It's sad in today's world Rolex watches today are seen as little more than £££$$$ ,instead of wearing and enjoy wearing hopefully in good health for many year's.Then after wearing if the need to sell and it gives you a good return on original price paid. Then just think of the bonus that watch has given you over the many years of wearing. Now that should be the pleasure of owning and wearing a Rolex, its not all about discontinued,££££$$$,ect.

But it won't. What ifs...all day long, silly. If you search, there are a dozen threads on this.

I think if you hang onto it for 20 years it would go through the roof as Pepsi from the 70/80's now are. There is a lot of these out there so they wont be collectible because they are unique

It’s all just speculation, the reality is that it’s only worth what the next person is willing to pay for it. What “if” the world ends tomorrow, suppose your BLNR is worth nothing then.

Just enjoy it. It will likely hold its value, and go up slightly overtime. Seeing how they just released a new Pepsi, I’d think Rolex will eventually release a 126710BLNR to replace the current 116710BLNR.

I predict the price will increase by 18% initially, followed by a decrease of 10% (as an adjustment to over-reaction); then a few years later prices increases again by 8%, and then drops by 12% due to a new Coke model. The price settles at that point.

It's had an amazing run since inception. Secondary prices never really fell off of MSRP much, which pre-hysteria/shortage days was pretty un-heard of.
It's a great watch that people seem to love. I predict it will always have an appreciable fan base. In terms of worth...probably not a "frenzy" level piece, but solid. |
