Nowadays you can easily get Studio lighting and adjust the color temperature plus of course manipulations in Photoshop if you wish.

My pics are always taken with an iPhone and for some reason the iPhone can make it look more purple than it really is. In real life it’s blue, not BLNR blue but definitely blue. It does change drastically with lighting but that’s the coolest part about it

I have a strong UV flashlight, for checking gem fluorescence, and when I shine it on the ceramic bezel of my WG BLRO, the entire ceramic ring shines red. I really can't see the transition points, or any hint of difference, until it returns to normal light.

I tried one on at a preview event last week and it looked like the OPs pic 2. I liked it a lot actually and have my name down for one.

Anyone that says it’s not purple (as I’m sure they will) have a look at a pic of one next to a BLNR and you’ll see. Personally I think the Pepsi nickname should be reserved for the older references, and I propose we come up with a more suitable nickname. Suggestions welcome, I’ll start...

The Rolex GMT ‘Fedex Freight’

The Rolex ‘Natwest’

But then I hate the ceramic bezels, apart from the plastic look to them (which I get is personal) you’ve got the fact they won’t age with the rest of the Watch meaning they’ll look even more odd in years to come.

Ps, don’t get your knickers in a twist, just a bit of fun.
I had thought of FedEx as well, but I think this is a more accurate color representation. I propose calling the 2018 SS BLRO the "Roto-Rooter."
