I've done all sorts of flipping...subs of all flavors. I've ended up with one subc, the 116618lb. And I'm very happy with it.

Flipped my 114060 as it didn't sit right on my wrist. Don't miss it at all as my ETA BBN fills the no date, black bezel diver spot in my watch box. Will add the LVC at some point in the future though!

I had a G serial 116610 LN years ago. Didn't keep it long. I regretted that decision, but I wasn't wearing it much relative to other watches in my collection.

But that was before the current era of stainless steel sport watch scarcity vs. increased demand.

Sold my 114060 back in June after picking up the Omega Seamaster 300 trilogy. TOTAL regret. The 300 is off and the hunt for a 114060 is back on. Easier said than done here in the UK, but thats another thread entirely.

Yes and no. I sold it to fund a GMT but did not need both so the Sub had to go to a home where it would be worn and appreciated.

Right now I have no GMT yet, so I do miss the 114060. When a GMT lands I will forget about the Sub.

Except mine is the Two Tone. Yes, I regret that I had to do this multiple times to learn a lesson someone smarter would have learned sooner.

The 114060 didn't have the versatility or grace when it came to non oyster shoes.

Sometimes you gotta change it up (I do every couple of days).

Right at home.....(seeing a 5517 pic years ago will never escape me).

It’s the best watch move I’ve ever made and love the BLNR. Whilst the SubC was a great watch it just felt “boring” and now I always buy watches with a bit of colour (Blnr, JC, Hulk, Pepsi).

The traditionalists can’t see past a black sub but I’ve not looked back and don’t miss mine.
totally off topic, but one of the things I enjoy here is observing the contrasts between the American & British versions of the language.

A proper yank would never substitute whilst for while, lest he be accused of putting on airs. And whilst colour may be the more colourful spelling, we prefer the more efficient color. Never use 3 vowels when 2 will suffice.

Curious why you have Jimmy Garner (was a long time friend of my Dad's) in your Avatar.

I have lived long enough to learn that:

- I should not feel too attached to anything that can be replaced with money

- as long as I sell something to replace it with something better ('better' being relative, each person defines 'better' for themselves), then I am ok with selling it.

That being said, I have not sold a Sub yet. The two I have are keepers, unless of course I need the money to subsidize something better.

Pretty simple, I think the Rockford Files and the character Garner played are both among the best that ever aired on a network television series. The license plate on his famous gold Firebird was 853-OKG, supposedly representing August 1953 (his 1st paid acting gig) and Oklahoma-Garner to remind him where he came from.

Obviously I have personal knowledge of him, but it always seemed as though he was the genuine article...a Korean war veteran, married for 50+ years, a man's man.

I know he wore Tag in the Rockford Files, and that it was probably his personal watch, so it has nothing to do with being a Rolex enthusiast. Must've been very cool to have a legendary actor pop by your home now and then.

This might sound crazy but I sold my 116610LN to fund a 5 digit 16610. I had never owned a 5 digit Sub and everyone I came across with mentioned how great the 5 digit reference wore on the wrist (I have a small wrist). Took a while and the change came at a time where I was reducing the collection. Its been a year and a half since the change and I love the 5 digit but I wouldn't be against going back to ceramic. Love the solid links on the glidelock however it is not enough to make me pay 9800 for a SubC like I've seen listed here.

I flipped my SubC for a SD43, which I enjoy a great deal more. I ended up flipping it because the Sub left me wanting something more and a bit more unique. I think the only other Sub that may come into to the collection is the YG Sub, but that's a ways away!

What do you miss about the 114060? Are you going to flip the Seamaster to get it back?

Either way, best of luck in your pursuit!

Traded my 116610LV for a 116619. No regrets in the trade.

The WG sub is a keeper unless Rolex updates the sub case/movement, makes a platinum sub, or treats the WG sub like the WG BLRO. . .

flipped a sub for a batman then flipped back to a sub then flipped back to a batman. i know i know i'm neurotic.

right now i'm quite happy with the batman. thought of owning both, but i just can't seem to justify owning 2 similar watches in my head.

i too think the sub is a nice watch but a bit boring and devoid of personality. the batman has just the right splash of blue to keep things interesting.

It always interests me too.

We have close American friends and are there at least once a year. It can be funny to use phrases regularly used here and be met with blank expressions lol.

Colour vs color is just one example. I’m pretty sure there’s honour vs honor, glamour vs glamor and others where the “u” is added for us and left out for you.

At least we understand each other pretty well

I miss the allure of the steel and finishing, the deep black dial and bezel, the rock solid bracelet and clasp. Basically everything. The 300 will be flipped very soon. I'll pick up anoither Sub as soon as I can find one. No easy task sadly, but I'll appreciate it even more when I get it. It's the only watch I've regretted flipping. It was then that I knew it was the watch for me.

After having worn a 114060 for a year I sold it for an Explorer 214270. For me the perfect watch. Fortunately I still have a 14060M 4-liner for the real Submariner feeling.

The sad thing is I’ve got the money (burning a hole in my pocket) and can’t get either, would prefer a date. Hope one comes along soon I don’t want to spend the money on another watch. (Hulk maybe at the right price).

The English love to shove unnecessary letters into words, the worst one I've come across is Lord Wriothesley, which is pronounced Risley. Yacht is also pretty superfluous.

I thought about selling my 14060m 2 line when I got my 126600. But I just can't do it. It has about of magic about it. Wore it all through my child's early years. It's in all my pictures of those days.

Couldn't get rid of my 15200 blue either that I wore before the 14060m. It was with me over a decade of memories pre-fatherhood. My wife wears it now.

I guess I'm a sentimentalist - particularly on my watches.
