I tried the OP39 in black and white on after a delivery and didn't fall in love, but this pic is making me rethink that! haha.

I find this to be true mostly when I buy a new reference. I wear the heck out of it for awhile but then it eventually settles in to the rotation.
I have noticed lately, that I’m gravitating toward comfort as a criteria for new purchases, so some of my larger, heavier watches don’t get as much wrist time |

Yup. That’s why I dumped pretty much everything when I got my DD. I’ve wanted it since I was really young so really no desire to wear anything else, at least for the foreseeable future.

Same situation and same watch; a black dial Daytona C. I havent taken it off since it arrived except to sleep. It's easy to head in the one-watch direction, although I'm trying not to make a rash decision and sell the rest too soon. But, if I do end up with one then the Daytona will likely be it.

Wow—I literally can’t count the number of watches that have had that effect on me and yet I always move on to something else! I’ve accepted that there is no cure for me...

Sometimes I feel stuck with my collection because I have pieces which are worn less often however I am partial to replacing them with something I would wear more.
My vintage pieces will certainly stay however I also have some new-old-stock that would be impossible to replace. I have several grail pieces and although I have a favorite, I try to wear it less often so as to appreciate it more. |

My BLNR definitely took some time away from my Explorer, but I still love the Explorer. The problem is, it's hard to find situations in which I'm okay wearing a Rolex but NOT my BLNR.
If I want to look snazzy I opt for the BLNR. If I'm at work or somewhere where I'm getting dirty or lifting heavy objects I'd opt for my beater. The Explorer is kind of between those two.

I am NOT a one watch guy and love them all, but darned if this 116610LN hasn't been on my wrist 24hrs a day since I got it two months ago.
That's got to be a record for me but the thing just does everything well and even with its subtlety it still makes me smile just glancing at it. I haven't been this smitten since my 16610LV. The grail is still the DD w/g. (Larry's birthday pic about put me over the edge)

Thanks; I certainly think so. I'm still in shock having received it last Thursday. Needless to say it will get a lot of wrist time.

How long will that last as an only worn watch? It's a nice watch!!! It might have lasted me a couple of weeks.

I have had good examples of this as i mostly use my Explorer II and DD40. Those other references support my Explorer II and DD40. When i wear for example Sky-Dweller or ceramic Daytona for a day or two, i start to miss my 2 best ones and appreciate them even higher. So all the other references in my collection support them. If i would not have the other references i would acquire them. This way the ”balance” is best for me.

This is the exact reason I cant accumulate alot of watches. I own 2 right now. One for potential dirty work and one for everything else. If I had a large collection they would all sit and I would be wearing the newest one till I was tired of it. Then down the road it goes and the next new one comes in. My honeymoons can last years.
I collect other items and I regularly do a Purge and get rid of alot of the lower end items that I no longer care for and make room for potentially new incomings. I get a kick out of buying and selling. Took many years to figure out that I have a issue there and I have accepted the fact the the Postal System will get rich from all my packages. |

I am going through the same thing now after getting the SD43. But the same thing happened with the LVc and the 16710 it will pass give it some time, don't start flipping your watches.

I think that in terms of my tastes, needs (which let's be honest, are more wants in this day and age) and my activities, a Sky Dweller would fit this bill more than any other watch. Although I like rotating them and mixing it up, so it is unlikely that one would kick the rest into touch. If I ever get a Sky Dweller, I'll know for sure!
